It's funny how a lot of people thought this would just be a boring and unnecessary fight, but it turned out to be the best heavyweight fight I've seen in a few years. Better than Joshua vs Klitschko imo. What a trilogy! I was rooting for Tyson Fury but props to Wilder for his determination!

Deontay Wilder's game plan appeared to be trying that long jab to the body. He almost looks like he's lunging, and it didn't seem to bother Fury in the slightest. He definitely used his reach to his advantage more often here, but as a lot of people predicted, after he got hurt he forgot all his training and reverted back to fighting on instinct. Wilder can punch but he can't box, to put it simply.

I thought Fury would finish Wilder early after that first knockdown in the third, but I was left on the edge of my seat with my heart racing after the fourth round. Fury recovered brilliantly from those two knockdowns, and Wilder looked gassed for the rest of the fight. I don't know what was keeping him up in the second half. Fury was dominating by using his weight to lean on Wilder and wear him out while landing some beautiful hits. Wilder couldn't stop missing and Fury couldn't stop landing.

I love those lead left shots Fury did that look like a mix between a jab and a hook. I also like how Fury never misses a chance to land and throws a quick glancing blow right when he gets out of a clinch, which must be very disorienting for his opponents. What I didn't like was how Fury was standing right in front of Wilder too many times. Sometimes he couldn't seem to figure out whether to be up close to smother Wilder or further away to avoid those insane explosive windmill punches from the Bronze Bomber. His head movement was always great, apart from rounds 4 and 5 where he was definitely hurt. Wilder could barely touch him and he was getting exhausted while Fury was landing one back when he was off-balance, which is how that penultimate knockdown happened.

That final combination from Fury was beautiful. That uppercut before he had him on the ropes, and then the massive finisher that seemed to briefly knock Deontay Wilder out cold. Heh, much for "pillow fists". But he was still trying to get up which is impressive. Just goes to show what would have happened had Wilder's corner not thrown in the towel last time. I might've been even worse than that; a LOT worse. That's the thing with heavyweight boxing.

Congratulations to the Gypsy King for getting up and winning a third time, and props to Deontay Wilder for proving he has heart. Still sad to see he refused to be a good sport and accept Fury's congratulations, but it is what it is. Hopefully Wilder doesn't make excuses again this time. Apparently Fury is set to fight Dillian Whyte next (if he beats Otto Wallin) while Usyk has the rematch with AJ so I look forward to finally seeing an undisputed heavyweight champion in this brilliant era! But right now I don't see anyone beating Fury.
