Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II Scorecard by...
Round 1: Pretty clear Usyk round he lands the cleaner headshots while most of what Joshua landed wasn't flush. Joshua may have landed one decent bodyshot towards the end but its hard to tell from the angle.
Round 2:Joshua just nicked it. Usyk was outboxing him initially but the bodyshot Joshua landed at the end cumulated the most damage.
Round 3:They both landed good shots but AJ got outworked. This is a reoccurring theme in the middle and later rounds.
Round 4: Dominate Usyk Round
Round 5: Pretty clear Usyk round. Jolted AJ with a jab/hook, kind of similar to the Klitschko Povetkin knockdown. Did some great bodywork too and generally outboxed him. Not sure why this is a contested round among the fan scores.
Round 6:Even. Joshua took the first half, Usyk took the second half.
Round: 7 Usyk. Outworked and outboxed, plain and simple. Uysk also landed a sold left that shook Joshua just a bit.
Round 8: Very close round. I have to give it to Joshua who overall did more damage with his bodyshots. Usyk came close to stealing it back with that mean left hand towards the end but it's not quite enough to negate Joshua's work.
Round 9: Excellent round for Joshua. Contrary to whats been said, Joshua was NOT close to stopping Usyk in this round, though Usyk was hurt Usyk wasn't taking a sustained beating and slipped most of Joshua's follow-up.
Round 10: Dominate round for Usyk.
Round 11: Joshua did some good bodywork but in general he was outboxed and outworked. It's been a reoccurring theme. Usyk was hit with a bad low blow which to be fair was probably the result of it being redirected by his elbow defense; Majidov hit him with an accidental low blow that was similar to this situation in the semi-pros.
Round 12: Usyk's round. Joshua actually had a pretty good start to the round, but then he sort of fell apart, and basically was just trying to survive and stay on his feet.
