R1- Hardly any footage is on film of this round, which is one with hardly any action. Conn is just bouncing and moving, while Louis is tenatively plodding. Louis wins the round by default for being the only one to land anything.

R2- Conn scores with a right before letting off a flurry to the body up close, punctuating with a left hook. Louis is unable to get into punching range after. Conn’s best round by far, and the only one that appeared to mirror a round from the last fight.

R3- Both are occasionally throwing jabs, not with any authority though and are slipping the others’ as well. Louis seems to land and dodge a tiny bit more, but a definite swing round.

R4- Conn is not throwing anything other than a jab, but some score early. Louis starts to outjab him after not too long and lands a couple of counter right hands.

R5- Louis is still too patient, but he successfully measures out a right hand that seems to bother Conn a bit. Another right lands for Louis, allowing him to maintain a superior range after, thus letting him land more power shots up close. Conn backs Louis off with a few left hooks before the bell. Best round of the fight.

R6- Louis is still the only one taking any real chances, as he lands more and forces the fight. Late, a jab makes Conn’s glove touch the canvas, seemingly at his own will. Louis was definitely robbed of a knockdown here.

R7- Louis is still outjabbing Conn, as Conn is not standing close enough to score and seems more interested in feinting.

R8- The right hand of Louis is landing with more regularity. A cross buckles Conn, who is unable to smother Louis’ follow up. Conn later walks into a smooth right uppercut-left hook combo, which flattens him for the count. A great finish to a poor fight. I have had the displeasure of seeing far worse fights, but this bout did not come close to holding a candle to its predecessor. Easily one of the most dissapointing bouts of all time. Seeing these two run it back while being so far past it may make one forget how legendary the first bout between these two greats was and is, but at least no one could take what occured that night away from them.
