R1- Garcia is the aggressor and busier fighter through the first two minutes, but the guard and upper body movement of Spence get him out of the way of most shots, aside from a few right hands. Garcia shows a good guard early as well, but the right hook both up and down stairs prove to be good weapons for Spence. Late, Spence stuns Garcia with a left hook to the body then tags him with a quick 1-2-3 combo to the face. From here, Spence gets Garcia going backwards. A couple of left hands cause Garcia to shake his head in response, but this does nothing to help him. Good showing in the first round of Spence’s pro career.

R2- Garcia rushes through a few times early, but Spence assaults his body with hooks in return, while using good head movement to get under Garcia’s shots in return. A funny moment occurs where Garcia loses balance and does a horrible imitation of the Ali Shuffle to play it off. On a serious note, the body work of Spence proves to be able to sap the energy of Garcia quick, causing him to square up, drop his hands, and throw arm-punches numerous times. In the closing moments, Spence starts to tattoo his head with ones and twos.

R3- With Garcia almost being pulled out between rounds, the events of this round prove that may have been the best decision. Surprisingly, to his credit, he shows some good head movement throughout the first minute, getting under a few combinations to the head from Spence. The body shots of Spence, however, are unable to miss. Spence does finally crack him with a straight left to the face, before snapping his head upwards on four different occasions with left uppercuts, the last of which taking away Garcia’s legs before he is flattened by a right hook. Garcia does beat the count, but Spence briefly stalks him around the ring, continuing to punish him with combinations until the ref jumps in. Impressive and fun debut by a young Spence.
