Your prediction break down for Ortiz vs Ruiz

Great match up on paper but a real shame its happening 5 years too late. Bloody 43 years old, even with rumours Ortiz might be older than that, even though i think they are incorrect.

Ortiz’s chin is clearly gone now, although Ruiz’s chin isn't the greatest either. Technical ability, Ortiz is more skillful, with a very good punch selection/knowing the best punch to throw and time and ring IQ, also I believe Ortiz punches harder than Ruiz. Whereas Ruiz has much faster hands, is much much fresher, has better stamina which should really help him win here.

If it was 5 years ago, I would definitely give this fight to Ortiz as he was a very good fighter then who I think actually would have given Wladimir huge problems if they fought between the near 2 year lay off between Klitschko V Fury in late 2015 and Joshua V Klitschko in early 2017.

Time flies and it is 2022 now, Ortiz is 43…. , enough context ill get to prediction now. I think Ruiz will try and start fast, quickly attempting to get Ortiz’s respect early on. Ortiz will have to rely on the counter as his chin these days simply cant deal with being on the front foot especially with one of Ruiz’s hand speed. I do think Ruiz will land more punches in the early rounds overall but Ortiz will counter with some better and more meaningful punches that will gain Ruiz’s respect. Towards the mid to the late rounds in a close, somewhat cautious fight so far - drawing ish on the scorecards, Ortiz stamina and chin will decrease significantly and quicker than Ruiz’s which will play the difference with Ruiz forcing Ortiz forward on the front foot and countering him with a combination that Ortiz’s chin just wont be able to handle, which will end in a KO. I wouldnt be surprised if Ortiz won this as he is a very good fighter but age will always catch up with you.
