R1- Very tactical climate from the start, with not many shots being landed on either end and both guys catching and slipping several shots. While southpaw Sanders may be able to match or slightly edge Mayweather in the department of jabs, I thought that the occasional potshots from Mayweather and his body work, especially in the closing portion edged him the round. While I would not say so, one could make a case that this was the first round that Floyd Mayweather Jr. lost as a pro.

R2- We get our first glimpse at the defensive wizardry of Mayweather, as he uses his superb reflexes and head movement to evade at least half a dozen punches early on. Contrary to the commentary, the pressure of Sanders has been ineffective the whole bout. Mayweather is landing well with his lead left hook, especially to the body. A solid check hook causes Sanders to hold. Later, Mayweather throws a combination of left hooks, causing Sanders to open up, just to get tagged by a right. The first round was calm and pretty close, but this one was more decisive.

R3- The output of Mayweather decreases, but he is finally outjabbing Sanders, occasionally whacking the right hook to the body, and consistently evading shots that come his way.

R4- It is revealed that Mayweather suffered a small cut in the last round, but the cause of it is unknown. Sanders comes at Mayweather at the start, but is unable to land and takes a series of body shots for his efforts. To the displeasure of the crowd, Mayweather starts to move, jab, and push Sanders around matador style. Another impressive display from Mayweather, who dominated a game challenger very early in his career. Sanders would go on to lose dozens of more fights and maintain a poor record, despite giving a good account of himself here.
