Titles at Stake:
Undefeated knockout artists collide when Kostya Tszyu makes the second defense of his IBF Super Lightweight Championship against Hugo Pineda. Tszyu stings the gigantic Pineda with some straight right hands in the opening round but walks into a right hook that drops him to a glove and a knee. Shaken but undeterred, Tszyu proceeds to slug it out with Pineda and puts him on his backside with a pair of right hands seconds into the fourth round. Pineda loses a point for a three-punch combination to Tszyu's nether regions in the fifth and is docked two more points for low blows by Referee Billy Males in the seventh and ninth rounds. Tszyu buckles Pineda's knees with a straight right in the sixth and sinks him onto his hands and knees with two more in the seventh. After a left hook drops Pineda onto his hands and knees in the eleventh, the challenger goes down twice more from an accumulation of punishment, prompting Males to end the fight.
