Re: Jaime Munguia vs Brandon Cook
Prediction,
Munguia is doing more than enough for activity, that's 3 world title fights in 4 months, it might be too busy a schedule, but I suppose the Ali win was a mismatch, and this doesn't look like that tough a fight.
Munguia had a rough time against Liam Smith, for 3 rounds, he wasn't getting the best of it, he dominated the last 9 rounds, clearly won 7 of the last 9, scored a kncokdown, was pushed, but proved to be adaptable, got better as the fight went on, couldn't stop Smith or really come close, but he's only 21, and surely not in his prime yet, so to beat Smith as wide as he beat him (5 points, 7, and 11).
Cook is decent, only lost to Islam, and should be very well prepared, because he did the training for Kell Brook, Sam Eggington, without going through the damage of fighting either.
I think Cook is an ease off from Liam Smith, which is good, because a fighter shouldn't have too many of those toll taking, back and forth fights, pick up too many miles, but at the same time, it is more or less pointless to fight poor opponents, so it is good that Munguia is fighting another opponent in the same class as Ali, Smith, and not another opponent of the level he was fighting at before the Ali fight.
I think Cook will try, maybe make an early round close, but won't be able to produce the power, accuracy, or consistency of Munguia, and Munguia will be winning the rounds, and taking a toll.
I think Munguia stops Cook, maybe in 6 or 7 rounds.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs Brandon Cook
Jaime looked a lot more patient, and waited out his opponent until he was ripe for the finish. The kid is just impressive.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs Brandon Cook
Munguia looked to be at least 3 weight classes bigger than Cook in there.

He maybe has one more at 154, two tops before he's at 160. Definitely ends up at 168 before it's over.
