Crirosero, that's the second comment you've made, I haven't liked the look of, I suggest you conduct yourself like most of us on this site. Thank you.

Okay fine srry

Tank Davis KO late

Champion97's picture

Prediction.

Both are experienced, but Davis more so, he has the better amateur background and slightly better resume as a professional, he has been more dominant than Barrios, Barrios has been dominant himself overall, but the Akhmedov fight was very close. Both fighters are versatile, are offensively good, have good variety, can fight mid and close range, and can fight on the back foot, but can box on the outside, have good jabs, but Davis is better in terms of speed, timing and accuracy, and is defensively much better. Barrios has fought at 122, fought at 130 at 21, so I don't think he is big at 140, but he is not small for the weight, has been fighting at light welter and welter for 4 years, and Davis is going from 130 to 140, he struggles to make 130, he fought Gamboa at 135, but Gamboa is small at 135, I think Davis is small at 140, I expect Barrios to be stronger than Davis. Barrios doesn't hit as hard at 140 as Davis at 130, but Davis won't hit as hard at 140 as at 130, I don't think there is much in it for power. Barrios is the better athlete, he proved he could finish strong in a tough 12 round fight against Akhmedov, Davis hasn't lived the life, lacks discipline. I think both fighters have good chins, Davis has a better chance of hurting Barrios with a head shot because Barrios is more likely to take a shot he doesn't see coming. Both fighters are good body punchers, Davis can hurt Barrios to the body, especially with Barrios's height, but I think Barrios's best chance of hurting Davis is with the left uppercut to the body, that's a great shot for him.

I think Barrios will take centre ring, will be first with his jab, Davis will defend well, but Barrios will out work him. I think the tempo will increase in the mid rounds, Barrios will fight with more urgency when Davis has established himself as the counter puncher, but will open himself up to more shots. I think the fight will be in the pocket for most of the mid rounds, Barrios will hit Davis harder than he's been hit before, and hold up better than any of Davis's other opponents, but Davis will still do more damage, his accuracy will be the main difference, Barrios will miss with a lot more shots, and he will be the much easier for to hit. I think the fatuige aspect will make Barrios a target in the late rounds, Davis will hit him with a shot he doesn't see coming, and Barrios won't have the survival skill to get any respite.

I think Davis stops Barrios in 10 or 11 rounds, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it went the distance, I'd be surprised if Davis stopped Barrios inside 6 rounds.

MINIMaxBOXING's picture

Tank competitve UD. 115-112.

Didn't score this one because I missed the first few rounds watching other fights, but damn this was a good one. I've always been iffy about Tank, but I have to say this was damn impressive, Tank's power and timing is special. Barrios may not be world champion level at 140 but he is a solid guy, and he had a big size advantage. One of the better fights I've seen this year.

Champion97's picture

Barrios had a great game plan, he didn't give up his advantages in strength or reach, established his jab, made it hard for Davis to find his distance and get into a rhythm, he backed Davis up, was prepared to miss, but his pacing was good. Davis's timing and accuracy were important, his defence was good, but his punch variety was poor for the majority of the fight, the knock downs varied between shots, but Davis was looking for the counter left hand for most of the fight, and he didn't throw enough combinations as the fighter with the faster hands. Davis proved to have a good chin in this fight, he was never hurt, and he made the adjustments he had to when the fight was close, he found the perfect balance in round 9, didn't empty his tank trying to stop Barrios or underestimate Barrios's recovery and walk into a shot, but he didn't let him off the hook. Barrios recovered very well from round 9, he was almost stopped, but the timing, method, and accuracy of Davis's body shots were his undoing.

Chris M95's picture

idk why people online are raged about Mayweather Jr saying hes. looking forward to doing only pbc fights for Tank I mean that’s how the promoters of all “the new 4 kings” around 135 are doing so why different standards for Tank?..what gives?

what am I missing in this pic?

Gold's picture

Risk vs. reward, Tank can sell regardless and I think (and I think they've shown they think from how they've built him up) it shows he's not fully ready

Chris M95's picture

@Gold you believe Mayweather Promotions feel Tank ain’t ready for unification at 135 or a Garcia fight? why?

only point I was trying to get at was that is pretty much what all em promoters are doing logic states the easiest fight to make was Haney Garcia..Oscar wants that Hearn wants that and Haney wants that only person disinterested was Garcia who prior to his mental health vows was talking about Haney being the last one of “the new 4 kings” he wants to fight
I respect honesty from Mayweather Jr and rank it higher than cap from Garcia calling out Tank Davis with that 2 rds bs with known attention wh*re and kiss as* Mike Tyson especially when Garcia own promoter Dela Hoya been claiming Haney was the fight they were in steers in making and Ellerbe coming out and claiming he spoke to DLH and that both parties agreed that Tank Garcia was not a immediate priority either camps were looking at and that it was mostly cap from Garcia thus confirming an underlying the a major concern from a section of fans in this situation who felt Garcia was using Tank’s name as shield to deflect talks of a Haney...but that was before the apparent anxiety issues and hopefully the young talent has recovered well

Teofemo Garcia seemed more promising for a while with Teo scheduled to fight earlier pre his covid situation on Triller (and still is) and with rumors about Oscar and Golden Boy taking their business away from dazn and to Triller permanently however TR shut all that down a couple weeks ago when the announced during their card that this fight would be a one off on Triller and that Teo would be signing an exclusive extension...everyone knows Bob is hella spiteful and revengeful and Teo would has little leeway now in going out and demanding a Haney fight..a fight no less Arum was never interested in making according
to himself...same time let’s not forget that Hearn is the same guy talking unifications fights at rival promoters networks...talking that talk but got caught having his finger blocking the area on the phone where he said the amount he offered Charlo on the contract he emailed him was at but claiming he offered 7 mil no less lol

which leaves us with a fight that neither party of Teo or Davies have not gone out of their way or made it known they’d be willing to consider fighting at an event co promoted and televised by a network from the other side
the best anyone was expressed willingness to do so to the best of my knowledge as of present moment is surprisingly Hearn and Haney side but again no one can be trusted 100 and how lenient will Dazn be with Hearn with the money they’re helping to dish out on a young talent who may not be presenting the entertainment value they’d probably hoped for...to then go and have his bigger money and unification fights on other networks like espn or plus vs Teo but then again “Rematchroom” as coined by some fans are known to good at return match’s for their boxers so Dazn seeing the best fight at 135 for em with Teo Haney?

I believe Teo and TR have 2 other more significant and brighter routes from their perspective with in house fights build up to a Loma rematch after another fight max or next OR 2 move up to 140 and have a welcome to the division fight against someone like an Barbosa Jr and maybe even someone like Zepeda before fighting Josh Taylor for all the marbles at 140...something he may not get to do at 135

personally I like that fight by then too in 2023 when Haney can come into his man strength and tested to a better fighter. And a unification or even undisputed fight at 140 between themmight be a better fight
Tank or maybe Garcia may have the road of least resistance in the next 2-3 years I’m guessing before they all start fighting each other or Loma by extension from the TR stable too

idk why most fans are always easily looking to scapegoat Tank but are sounding more lenient towards Garcia and Teo...granted Teo got the accomplishments at the highest levels and Garcia is younger and coming back from anxiety issues but it takes 2 to tango that’s for Tank with either Garcia or Teo
or Loma or another top level TR fighter by extension...

as for promotional platforms like Tyson talk show might be a long run of such promotional material from both sides before we ever close to sniffing the fight building interest building interest and talking points for mainstream fans...I’ve come to pay them no mind

I would favor Davis versus Garcia, I don't think Garcia wants that fight. I should clarify in saying I don't think they would put Davis in with Lopez, to me he's the clear #1 of the 4. From all I can tell Garcia is a "businessman" type boxer, he isn't in it for the long game, he's said he wants to stop boxing by 25. I agree Haney vs. Garcia is the logical fight that can happen but again it seems higher risk and low reward for Garcia even with Haney's last bad performance. Haney puts himself in a bad position, he's the low reward guy regardless of how high risk he really is.

Maybe Teofimo vs. Haney could happen because of the belt situation and promotionally there has been more deals between Top Rank and Matchroom, but there are some in house options for Lopez as you mentioned that could be exhausted first. I assume it will be the Lomachenko rematch for Teofimo next, keeping it in house is a Bob classic. For what its worth Bob sent Ramirez over to fight Hooker on DAZN.

We'll see about Haney, I don't have stock in him personally. I haven't seen his amateur fights but people say he had worse punching technique then and he's been improving it. He just looked awful at the end of the Linares fight in my view. I think at least some of the fights will get made but it'll take someone to break the ice.

I like watching Tank, this fight just didn't do anything for me and neither does Rolly level opposition because he can do better than that. I think he's better and is likely to do better in his career than Haney or Garcia, but we'll see about that. His size will be limiting at some level and he hasn't lived the life so far. I think Teofimo has already separated himself with the Loma win, he should be considered a bottom of the top 10 pound for pound fighter for what that's worth. It wasn't that long ago when Floyd threatened to throw Tank in with Loma when they had that dispute and Tank didn't want that. I can't watch Tyson, he seems incoherent now, I respect fighters generally for putting their health on the line but he did too much whining and quitting in his career for me. If it gets more casuals to be interested in the new guys though that's great.

Chris M95's picture

@Gold yes but couldn’t everyone see the cracks in Hooker armor from a mile away in a few underwhelming performances including where he got away with one vs Perez (with only a real good judge Adalaide Byrd having scored in Perez’s favour)
sending Ramirez there for a fight televised on dazn to set up big money fight for undisputed after Ramirez skipped out of the wbss tourney completely must have looked like a winning bet to experienced ol Bob....

great point yes he did and where I felt he’d adjust and turn the tide of the previous 7 minutes of the fight near the end of the 10th stanza it was Haney himself who got rocked vs Linares a fighter on his last leg on the pros who even in his best years never finished strong at higher levels like some Teofimo fan put it “nobody in the history of boxing finished a fight holding on to Linares” even in his best years it generally been Linares who slowed down a lot quicker than his opponent and hurt in the final 3rd
the 4th rd of Haney Linares must have been too close for team Haney liking and 6 was kinda competitive too but I wasn’t overly critical of Haney here or after Gamboa as I wasn’t with Tank Gamboa or after Garcia Morales guys are still young and still have camps to make adjustments to their prior fights flaws but same time I don’t by the narrative by either Haney or Hearn fans saying “Haney fought a perfect fight except 2 rds” or still won the 10th despite getting clipped or was winning the rd going away before getting clipped...was kinda surprised to find out judge Patricia Morgan scored that rd for Haney even tho she was closest to the action where the rd ende...from dazn televised camera angle at the end of the 10th I could only see Weisfeld and he was paying attention to Haney’s reaction to that shot and his follow up walk to his corner as well and from experience I’d assume Dave Moretti was too although I can’t be 100% sure

Gold didn’t Garcia say he’d retire at 27 or 28 or some it would be disappointing if he goes in to a Tank fight in 2-3 years time without fighting Haney irony there is Garcia losing to Haney twice or at least convincingly would only make a Tank fight easier to make after Garcia builds his shine back up with a couple of lower tier wins or blowouts albeit at Mayweather promotions and Showtime’s terms and vice versa if Tank loses convincingly to a PBC fighters beating Haney however pits him top dog at dazn and better leverage with them considering rumors ain’t true that GB would be leaving Dazn for Triller

agree 100 on Teo faster track development P4P lists are subjective but I have him at #7 with my 4th spot vacant with only Canelo, Pacquiao Spence winner, Usyk, Josh & Crawford above him
also 100 on Bob classic tactics
Gold you’d be predicting Haney to beat Garcia too right

100 on Tyson being unwatchable and I’d add Teddy Atlas to that list what say you?

Gold's picture

For what its worth the bettors had it at nearly a pick'em, but I agree, promoters generally won't send belt holders over unless its worth their while in terms of money or risk, doesn't matter who it is.

Exactly, people know he fell apart versus DeMarco, started strong versus Lomachenko and fell off, and he lost more than he won in the second half versus Campbell. That's not counting the early KO losses in his career. Linares was set up for Haney to win impressively, I don't know if you saw it but Shawn Porter said he thought it was mental and poor corner experience for Haney when he had issues late in the fight and didn't recover well.

Yeah, that's what I heard, and he's doing some low budget movie about his life thus far or something lol. I just don't think he has the focus to really make it to the highest level, I think if he loses more than once he won't stick it out and try to rebuild, but of course any of them losing makes the fights easier to make. Even Haney's bad performance may make it easier for him to make fights.

I think Haney vs. Garcia is a really good fight, I would probably pick Garcia but it's close to a coin flip fight for me. I think Garcia is the better athlete, Haney is more technical and he showed a good jab versus Linares and he can usually point fight well which would give Garcia trouble but I also wonder if Haney could get Garcia's respect. I think Garcia could be aggressive and counter him well.

I would rather watch Tyson than Teddy Atlas, especially because Atlas is/was one of the chief Lomachenko propagandists.

Chris M95's picture

@Gold also you say you’d wanna see him in with better fights than Rolly opposition what you think about Tank vs Rolly down the line tho?...Rolly may be fighting Michel Rivera vs Jon Fernandez winner next

Gold's picture

Maybe if Rolly shows a better level or it's a tune up for Tank...I'm just not impressed by Rolly, the Marinez fight was awful for him.

beaunuitmem's picture

Who is there to fight if they're keeping it in-house? I can only think of Gary Russell Jr and Berchelt; both at 135 maybe?

Chris M95's picture

@beaunuitmem Gary Russell Jr? lol pls tell me you’re joking lol down the line maybe Gary Antwunne Russell is a more realistic option than Russell Jr ever is
when there’s more meat on the bone resume vice and guy develops into a more seasoned fighter and Tank settles into that weight class provided Antwunne ain’t outgrow the division himself..kid’s got great potential and true skills and should get the public talking the more he fights i could forsee that fight in like 2-3 years time say 2023 if Tank ain’t fighting the best cross promotional fighters by then like Garcia or Antwunne first and the winner gets Garcia in 2024 provided Garcia still a top player around 140-147 by then

as of now think Isaac Cruz or Michel Rivera or Rolly may get the Rivera vs Jon Fernandez winner first and Tank fights Rolly after Cruz next year if Rolly comes out victorious
Batyr Akhmedov is very much in the mix himself although Al may have him fighting a fighter promoted by Mayweather’s self proclaimed “lil bro” Broner next
someone I trust told me they’re anticipating Robert Easter vs Batyr Akhmedov next let’s wait and find out

beaunuitmem's picture

Tongue in cheek but genuinely couldn't think of anyone that's why I was asking. Gonna be honest; not seen Rivera or the new Russell but Tank tears through Cruz and Akhmedov. Would still watch but not exactly inspiring. I've only seen Romero fight once and he got schooled by Marinez. What about Prograis?

Chris M95's picture

@beaunuitmem no I respect your question.
there’s couple of em new Russell’s...Antonio did real well vs Payano himself in the (much) lower weights and got 2 more brothers

yes maybe but there might be considerable mainstream fan interest in those fights and cards by the time they’re announced and the venue and where it takes place will play a huge part in helping them drive up ticket prices
wouldn’t say Romero got schooled but he certainly lost a close fight vs Marinez I felt and the luster of that rematch been stripped away by Commey

personally I’d like Taylor Prograis 2 but what are the odds of that happening now that Taylor’s signed a contract with TR too? I feel that’s one of the 2 most reasonable routes Teofemo may go but maybe Gold is right in that Teo may be rematching Loma...Prograis been calling out Broner very possible that may happen next or 1 fight down the line Prograis also been saying Mikey’s camp and Robert is down for fighting him but Mikey saying nothing tangible came out of them talks
Ugas may want ta be compensated well with the whole wba debacle and a Mikey vs Ugas fight is very possible either next or after a Mikey tune up and in between for Ugas too if Ugas can’t get the Pacquiao Spence winner or Porter by then in the ring after that (as a Thurman fan girl Im waiting on who he decides to come back against in the back half of ‘21) either way Mikey may not be available for Prograis who is adamant he’s staying at 140 while Robert and Pita Garcia saying Mikey is a147 fighter Mikey says so too but didn’t rule out going down to 140 for the right price...Prograis? Broner might be the best option plus there’s considerable fan interest in all fights Broner could possibly lose vs a real skilled and offensive minded fighter so that will probably sell well too (UNLESS of course Hearn overpays like he did with Mikey vs Vargas and sets up a Broner vs Conor Benn clash provided he convincingly beats Granados and they ain’t looking at a possible fight with Ava...Mikey may gladly accept to fight on Dazn at Hearns loss again...all things considering like last time with the turnout for the Jessie Vargas fight)

beaunuitmem's picture

Let's see; I was speaking specifically about Tank because Mayweather said they're gonna keep it in-house, he's an elite fighter and their roster at the 130-140 range isn't the strongest.
Taylor Prograis is my favourite fight of recent times so would love to see it again but both fighters have been pretty clear that it probably won't happen till they're both at 147. saw an interview with Prograis yesterday where he said he'd given up on Broner and he'd like the Mikey fight and would "hurt" tank so Mayweather would never risk him in that fight, which I agree with.
Mikey is a horrible 147 imo but apparently they were dodging 140 to stay out of Ramirez's way

Chris M95's picture

I’d keep it between 135-140 do you really believe Tank is going all the way back down to 130?
from what coach Calvin been saying and the how Tank was talking in the post fight presser about respecting the bigger man size presence and power it feels like they could be looking at 135 mostly and building levels up I guess with 3-4 fights at 140 before going for the best and established top at 140...Teo is the most established of the bunch at 135 and the only truly P4P top 10 level fighter of “the new 4 kings” I believe I cant see him jumping in with someone like Prograis in his first fights at 140 either right so

beaunuitmem's picture

I don't believe he would go down to 130 and agreed on the levels but Ellerbe was insistent he won't be "campaigning" at 140 so it's just gonna look awkward if he doesn't fight anybody else out of the top 5 at 135, including Loma who is still a clear number one for me (my turn to fangirl).
Re: Teo: Teo Tank is a great fight at 135 but I make Teo a clear favourite at 140.

Chris M95's picture

awkward how? i mean it aint like Haney & Garcia will be fighting next only guys in the "top 5" looking likely to fight each other are Lopez & Loma even no guarantee that Teo wont course change..im resigned to that fact that top fighters for set networks at 135 would be cleaning out there own stables first and make max in house money before fighting each other...Tank vs Prograis and Haney Garcia are great "in house" matchups put look highly unlikely to took place within the next year...after Lopez Loma 2 provided that takes place next its still a steep decline in ability among the next best 135 pounders at TR too albeit some real good fighters at that weight class there

Loma fan em?...i respect Loma a lot and admire him fight but i find most of his fanbase annoyingly good at making excuses when their fav lose...second only in dumb stuff among active fighters to Pacquiao and Wilder fans
idk about #1 Teo holds that spot firmly for me anything after that is cool in my book but a distinction can be made between a fighter's ranking within a division or p4p and how you'd rank rank em based on hierarchy of who'd come out of top if they'd all fight each other right for instance RObert Garcia feels Tank beats everyone else and Haney loses to most so he's got 1 Tank 2Lopez 3 Loma 4 Garcia 5 Haney.....how would you have it then?

in the recent future i believe so too at 140 i feel Tank needs to grow into 140 while Teo would have an easier time acclimatizing ALSO lack of elite conditioning and unhealthy habits from a pro boxing pov in between fights may take longer to eradicate Tank might just be the least disciplined of all "the new 4 kings" between fights and the only young champ and highly touted fighter i'm hearing gym stories of being that undisciplined in his training habits and between fights is Shakur Stevenson
(not that Teo is the greatest conditioned boxer out there.....coping with asthma issues and all that too...but just saying)

beaunuitmem's picture

Awkward because whatever the reality of the situation; we've seen Garcia chase Tank, Lopez fight Loma and Haney (with the backing of Dazn and Matchroom, who insist he can fight on other platforms) chase all 3 so they're all making the right noises and then you have Tank keeping quiet and PBC saying we don't want to play. I think Garcia had his mental health issues because he was made to refuse the fight with Haney on the promise of bigger things and then he ended up with Fortuna so as good a fight as that would have been, we all know it doesn't hold the same weight as the other top 4 or a Mikey or a Pacman.

Massive Loma fan. Can't speak for the rest of the fan base but he definitely lost against Lopez. I saw it as a 7-5 fight and I thought the only swing round was 7 so I can accept 8-4. However, I do believe the excuse about the shoulder (Loma's risk to take and it backfired) and I believe he beats Lopez easy next time and he'd do the same to the other 3. That may be rose-tinted glasses, let's see if it happens.
I can't speak for the new 4 kings. I think they're all brilliant and I wouldn't be surprised if they could beat each other on any given day. I just want to see them fight otherwise it's going to become boring very, very quickly.
Shakur Stevenson looks fantastic too, if he's not living the life and still fighting like that, kudos to him.

Chris M95's picture

Garcia's "chase" was cap..you can say both fighters were "chasing" each other but it was nothing more than another initial line of promotion and content for their fans on their socials for a fight years down the line if that as both DLH and Ellerbe expressed back then nothing really serious Lopez is still fighting in house and signed longer exclusive extension deal with TR the intended purpose of fighting solely on PPV's on ESPN...outside of them TR 2 at 135 Tank is more or less is in line with Garcia and Haney's teams may have in store for them if they're fighting not each other...fingers crossed Golden Boy doesnt switch to Triller from Dazn that may take both the Garcia and Jojo Diaz fight from Haney who could end up being Mando at 135 if he gets past Fortuna..the rest o my Hearn Haney concerns ive been raised on my initial comment with Gold
i cant speak for reasons that may have triggered Garcia mental issues but been wishing a well recovery all the same

can never rule out Loma's talent in any fight...a respectable take on the shoulder injury and how the rematch might be different my guy..and how much did the performance vs Nakatani influence your take

me tho until Loma does avenges that loses hard to make a case for Lopez not being #1
Shakur Stevenson pure talent...how do you see a fight vs Valdez playing out

beaunuitmem's picture

I didn't realise DLH had said he wanted the Haney fight. Whenever it was mentioned he sounded less than enthusiastic in the clips I caught so maybe I have it wrong on Garcia.
On your point about Dazn being willing to let their fighters fight on other networks; the theory is that it would be considered an investment. For the right fights, i.e., for profile or belts, they could allow a fighter to fight "abroad" and increase the value on their commodity (the fighter).

Loma outclassed Nakatani as I expected him to, hasn't really influenced my opinion. Was looking forward to Lopez Kambosos because I do rate Kambosos so it would be interesting to see how Lopez had come on from Nakatani against a similar level, if not slightly better, opponent.

Lopez is definitely number one in the real world. Loma can't have a claim, he lost fair and square but he's still MY pound for pound number one. Most important governing body in my head:-)

Is Stevenson Valdez definitely happening? I think Valdez might have a bit too much for him right now but great fight. Can't see why Valdez would want to fight him over Herring though; considering Herring has a belt.

Chris M95's picture

ikr idk why so many felt Nakatani could cuz Loma problems
how you feeling about the whole postponement once again with Lopez Kambosos been a couple days but today people been posting pics of him vacationing with his girl and questioning it getting postponed to september...maybe those are older pics who really knows

my guy saying Andre Berto might be a real possibilty for Ugas if not the olympics id hope not

beaunuitmem's picture

ikr was a new one for me so ta for that addition to the acronym library.
It's a bit fishy. I remember the media day he did about 6 weeks/ 2months ago and he was all masked up and being extra careful, apparently because he had just had surgery and his immune system was low. Which begs the question why did he have a live media day at all? And if he truly had covid, a month probably isn't enough considering he'd have to get back into shape you'd assume.?
Conspiracy theory time: My thoughts are that Ugas is a liability for PBC. He has a belt they don't want to lose until he inevitably fights Spence but he's on the decline imo so they can't risk putting him in with anybody decent. So Berto makes perfect sense.

Gold's picture

I think what Chris said was a good overview but I would throw in a guy who isn't in house but not aligned with another major promoter like Fortuna as a possibility.

beaunuitmem's picture

Good call. Good fight; let's see how he gets on against Diaz but all these guys are up and coming, on the wrong side of 30 or not quite good enough (I put Akhmedov and Cruz firmly in this bracket). Gonna try my best to be less cynical as it plays out

Chris M95's picture

well said both of ya...braver men than me and maybe better boxing heads in this respect have deemed Diaz vs Fortuna closer to 50 50 so yeah let’s certainly wait on that result...personally I been sayingDiaz would wash Fortuna only cuz of how highly I rate Diaz always presents a threat but at 130 Diaz might be the most skilled after Shakur and Colbert when the chips fall and the smoke clear although I been felt the Berchelt vs. Valdez winner...now Valdez gotta be respected as the most accomplished fighter at the top at 130 I feel if the cross promotional matchups do come to pass at 130 Valdez loses to Colbert and Diaz and Stevenson in his own stable at TR where Herring finally may have accepted the Shakur challenge and not give up his wbo belt that easily I digress but that’s who I highly I rate Diaz skills and body punching ability and the way he way he picks counters when in better shape

Idk about you guys but even in a competitive loss Fortuna stock raises in my eyes but from a public perspective and anticipation PoV a competitive loss to Garcia may have speed up a pay cheque for Fortuna from Mayweather Promotions with these young bucks wanting to do better against common opponents and the fans generally being invested in that as well

Gold's picture

Up and coming, on the wrong side of 30, or not quite good enough worked to build Loma up for people, why not Tank? I get what you mean though about wanting him to fight better guys, I guess our best hope in the shortish term is there's a promotional break for someone or one of them takes a loss which makes a fight easier to make.

beaunuitmem's picture

Agreed with the second bit but not the first. Tell me your thoughts but I think Loma has asked for the hardest fights available since day one, not the only fighter to do so but the difference was the promoter was on the same page as well. I think Bob Arum has agreed he could beat anyone and tried to make the fights, hence Salido in the 2nd fight and Gary Russell in the 3rd fight. Tank may want to fight the hardest fights but his promoter is definitely not on the same page.

TheUndefeated's picture

More championship belt BS. Josh Taylor is the only real WBA belt holder and legitimately owns all the 140 major belts. Shame on Showtime for not even mentioning this and propagating a phony minor belt. Barrios is a good fighter, but in no way was he the real champion. Props to Tank, he proved a lot, but this wasn't the top of the 140 division.
