Re: Jesse Rodriguez Franco vs Wisaksil Wangek
Prediction.
There is no comparison for experience, and Franco has never come across power on the level of Rungvasai, especially with most of his fights being at a lower weight, his chin will be fully tested, he'll have to respect Rungvisai's power massively, it will be interesting to see how well he can implement a safe game plan. Rungvasai is very old, he comes off a layoff, and he has a lot of miles, it will be interesting to see how much pressure he can impose in the early rounds. There is no comparison for speed, but Rungvasai is likely to be stronger, Rodriguez's ability to box on the back foot will be tested, and if Rungvasai lands clean, how Rodriguez responds will be crucial, Rungvasai's age could be a lifeline for Rodriguez if Rungvasai punches himself out, but Rodriguez's survival will be very important.
I think Rodriguez will start by throwing combinations and using lateral movement, Rungvasai will struggle to cut him off, and won't have a chance to counter, but he won't be backed up by Rodriguez's fast combinations. I think Rungvasai will put Rodriguez briefly on the defensive whenever he let's his hands go, he will cut off Rodriguez off more easily as the rounds go on, and it's when he's able to exchange with him that he'll have success, but Rodriguez will throw when Rungvasai doesn't, stopping him being economical, and Rungvasai will have to fight at a higher tempo than he wants to, to stop Rodriguez using his speed and youth. I think Rodriguez will take some damage in the mid rounds, Rungvasai will have an affect even with partially blocked shots, but the mid rounds will still take more out of Rungvasai with Rodriguez dragging a high tempo out of him and from the accumulation of Rodriguez's own shots, Rodriguez will recover in the minute after a tough round, far faster than Rungvasai, and Rungvasai will fade in the late rounds. I think when Rungvasai has started to back up, Rodriguez will be dominant, will tee off to head and body, Rungvasai will be an easy target, his power will bave declined, he won't be able to take any momentum from Rodriguez, and Rodriguez will get the stoppage.

Re: Jesse Rodriguez Franco vs Wisaksil Wangek
Phenomenal performance from Rodriguez, even given the timing aspect, size and experience were against him, Rungvasai still had to be broken down, and he implemented the perfect game plan. Rungvasai couldn't deal with Rodriguez's footwork at all, he couldn't cut him off, couldn't apply any pressure, and Rodriguez was always making adjustments with his feet to set up his shots. Rodriguez's speed in hand and foot was a factor, I don't think Rungvasai was affected mentally by Rodriguez's hand speed, but because Rodriguez was throwing 2-3 punch combinations and not staying in front of Rungvasai, his hand speed was a problem. Rodriguez's blocking was great, especially considering Rungvasai's power, he didn't get backed up because he was comfortable when Rungvasai let his hands go, but Rungvasai struggled to get through the guard, and wasn't building any momentum off his clusters of punches, he needed Rodriguez to punch with him, but Rodriguez used the ring, and he established his jab. Rodriguez didn't make the mistake of focusing too much on variety when Rungvasai was more and more of a target for the left hand, once Rodriguez had started walking him down, the stoppage was imminent. Rodriguez seemed strong at 115, the Cuadras fight was great preparation for the weight and a great learning fight in general. Pita Garcia did a good job for this fight, with Robert having to focus on Joshua's preparation for the Usyk rematch in the weeks of Rodriguez's training camp.
