Beck was staggered by an overhand right late in the first round and dropped to one knee, but was able to return to his corner at the bell. Beck went down again in the second round after a short Wilder left, but again survived. Beck took more heavy punishment in the third round including a cut which opened above his left eye. He went down twice more before being unable to respond for the start of the fourth round.
