Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Gerald Washington
Doesn't seem like it will be a great fight, but it's worth to watch it. Wilder should come off with a TKO win most likely, but it will be interesting to watch him against different opposition.

Wilder didn't look good at all here. Stoppage was maybe a bit quick but not outrageous IMO.

I think Wilder rises to the occasion, and is the best heavyweight on the planet.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Gerald Washington
Gerald Washington did great in there, it was a shame for him Wilder caught him in round 5, because once he had been caught, it was really over for him in this fight, but he tried his best, did great for 4-5 rounds. Wilder struggled a little bit with Washington's solid attributes in rounds 2 and 3, there weren't really any substantial weaknesses for Wilder to capitalise upon, but I don't think Washington was ever going to be a problem for Wilder for long, not that was gassing, not at all, both guys were in great shape in this fight well prepared, but I don't think Washington does anything spectacular, he's maybe found out slightly at this level for being just a little bit predictable, he doesn't really do anything which is going to make a fighter as good as Wilder struggle to adapt round after round, and more importantly, once Wilder had caught him, Wilder just did what he had to do, it was another day at the office. The stoppage wasn't premature, Washington was dropped heavily, he was gone, and Wilder was only going to tee off with more bombs, Washington didn't need that, and I think Washington, in the end, in the last few seconds, maybe wanted to retire from the fight, knowing Wilder was that incredibly dangerous, and he just knew he had too much heart, and would never quit, these fighters do need saving from themselves sometimes, the referee made the right call.
