Could have swore I already scored this fight.

Champion97's picture

Unfortunate for Henry Cooper, he was doing well, wasn't winning the rounds, early, but he was able to stop Clay having an easy time, was awkward, rugged, and in the fourth, lovely left hook, Clay didn't see it coming, knocked him for six, put him down pretty heavily. Cooper was unfortunate because the of the circumstance of the stoppage, cuts are very unfortunate, some fighters just bruise, gash easily, they have to be careful, but in that fifth round, Cooper had no mind to quit, but at the same time, that was a bad cut, I think there might have been more than one cut, there was clearly a lot of blood, it was affecting his vision, and Clay was landing more punches than earlier, doing more damage, and worsening the cut. Because Cooper was at the cut disadvantage, he had to either make Clay miss with most of his shots, or land something to really discourage Clay, and he didn't manage to do that whilst his cuts were getting worse and worse, the fight had to be stopped, just one of those things.
