What a fight! Normally I prefer the boxer but I felt that Hagler's offense was the more effective. This is one of those fights that I score differently every time and last time I remember watching this I scored 115-113 Leonard. Still not a bad way to end your career Hagler. At least you ended it better than Leonard!

I really need to watch this fight, everybody is always talking bout how great it is. Did you see Khan last weekend and Bradley vs Chavez? What a terrible injustice that was. So it turns out Eubank wasn't quite as good as people thought, or maybe Saunders was just a bit better than everyone thought, that was a great fight.
BTW happy Christmas Alex

Unfortunately I missed those fights. I saw Lara and Stevenson but that's really all I saw recently. Happy Christmas to you too Johnny. How's boxing going? And also what's Santa getting you this year?

Not great, I have quite a bad injury and won't be boxing until January, sprinting at night on uneven ground isn't a good idea. Not very much this year, I don't know about you but my parents paid for my driving lessons and that is kind of my main present, what is santa bringing you this year? It's funny because the only fights I haven't seen recently are Stevenson and Lara, I'm sure you heard about what Fury did to Chisora, in my opinion Fury would KO Wladimir Klitschko in one round, many strongly disagree but I would fully stand by that prediction. It was great to see Khan school Alexander because everyone said it would be a close fight apart from me, just a different class.

Sorry to hear about the injury. I used to have them all the time in wrestling. Is it a knee injury? If it is then that's exactly what I had and occasionally still have trouble with today. Personally I'm pretty sure I got the Joe Louis Autobiography, some Allman Brothers, Edgar Winter, and probably Black Sabbath CD's. Other than that I really don't know or really even want to know because I think presents should be a surprise. Personally I hate it when parents just give their kids gift cards before Christmas and tell them to buy whatever the hell they want; I just don't see the magic in that do you? As for Devon Alexander I always felt he was very overrated, he's one of those guys that will look great fighting a nobody (Lee Purdy for example) but the moment he faces someone real he chokes. The only real standby performance was his win over Maidana but even that Maidana was at a higher weight than he should have been and he was much better when he moved back down. As for Wladamir sure he is an excellent heavyweight and has learned how to protect himself in the ring, but many people forget that his chin is in worse condition than Daesan Butler's knees (you would have to watch American Basketball to get that reference) I honestly can't picture Wladamir in a competitive match because to be honest, I don't think he can. I do think Wladamir would get KO'D in this scenario but I believe thanks to his defensive abilities it would go past the first couple rounds. As for the Stevenson and Lara fights they were both fairly boring. Suhkotsky only connected (and by connected I mean barely touched) Stevenson before losing a boring affair. I am wondering when Stevenson will finally face someone real for a change even though I get the feeling he wants to enjoy his time on top for as long as possible. As for Lara the fight was competitive for the first 2 rounds before Lara controlled the action. It was pretty boring which hurts Lara's marketability because as in most of his fights that I've seen, most of the rounds look exactly the same. This hurts the marketability because most of his matches lack any real drama. Except for his fight with Angulo even though I have yet to see that one. Personally I would love to see Khan fight Pacquiao or Mayweather as I believe he has the tools to give either guy plenty of troubles. Sure he doesn't have a terrific chin but both Pcman and Money have lost a fair bit of their power over the years so that shouldn't be an issue. Its hard to make a prediction but I would put him over Mayweather, its a close call for Pcman. What are your thoughts on Cotto vs Canelo next year. My prediction is after many close and hard fought rounds of action Canelo will win a ridiculously wide decision. What do you think?

It is a chronicle calf injury I have, not too serious but forces me to take a break from boxing just as I'm getting close to having my first bout.

I think the case with Alexander is that he knocked out popular fighters like Juan Urango and Lee Purdy after for some reason they were treated like Mayweather and Pacquiao and as Alexander steps up he is exposed, I thought that he was outclassed by Porter and Bradley, people say the Bradley fight was close but it really wasn't, Alexander missed an enormous amount and was constantly tagged with better shots from the desert storm. Khan just took him to pieces.

Wladimir Klitschko is a coward with a bad chin, he only beat Povetkin because he cheated and Pulev was beating him, the only success he really had was the knockdowns, I would rather go home a loser but a warrior like Pulev than a victorious cheater like Klitschko. Pulev chose to fight like a man but if he had fought differently he could have won. Klitschko hits and leans but if he fought Fury he couldn't do that because Fury is the taller man, Fury has a longer reach and a better jab, he would out box him for sure, Fury came back from a major virus, boxed 10 sensationally one sided rounds against the improved Chisora and in southpaw, who else has ever done that?, if Tyson lands flush with the shot that knocked out Cunningham then Wladimir would be finished, it only takes one punch. I reckon Fury would fight until he dies and I have seen him brush off potentially career ending punches and knockdowns, Klitschko doesn't have guts, the only way Klitschko can win is if he knocks him out cold.

Stevenson is starting to get on my nerves, I reckon Hopkins beats him. Khan woukd give Mayweather a big headache everyday of the week, trust me, he can give hi problems, some think he can win. As for Pacquiao that is a different matter.

Cotto beats Canelo I reckon, I Canelo can barely beat Lara then what chance does he stand against Cotto after that terrific perfromance against Martinez. Once Canelo is losing he is losing, that is what I think. I think Canelo would be treated too kindly by the judges as per usual, I think Trout beats Canelo and Lara now, did you see how good Trout has looked in his last 2 fights.

Sorry for taking a long time to reply. I actually agree with a lot of the stuff you said but I really can't picture Tyson fighting until he dies. There have been claims for many fighter fighting forever if you need names Henry Armstrong, Rocky Marciano, Sandy Saddler, and Joe Jennette never fought passed 33 and its rare for most careers these days to span long stretches before going downhill. Personally I can't picture Fury being too much different. Although I have no idea what Tyson is doing fighting journeyman Christian Hammer. I had no idea who he was until I saw that he was fighting Tyson.

Stevenson is an ok fighter who looks really good just because of who he fights. Chad Dawson wasn't the same after he was manhandle by Ward and guys like Tavoris Cloud really aren't that great either. I picture Hopkins being the winner here. Hopkins isn't the type to take the loss to Kovalev too personally and I hope he has one more match left inside of him.

I always thought Canelo was overrated but I think Cotto's performance against Martinez has more to do with the decline of Martinez than it does the emergence of Cotto. Canelo gets most of his hype because generally people prefer exciting sluggers. I never did get around to seeing Trout's last two fights. To be honest the only time I saw Trout compete was in his match against Lara.

BTW take it easy on Alberto, the man is only sharing his opinion.

No problem Bro, don't feel obliged to reply if you have other things to do. I'm telling you man I seriously believe we have the 2 best heavyweights in the 2 world here in the UK, Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight on the planet on my opinion. Have you seen how he reacts to a knockdown? Some people find him irritating but love him or hate him he was born to fight, he recently schooled and battered the new, improved and world class Derek Chisora in a stance that isn't his stance, who else has ever done that?

You are right on the mark about Stevenson, he is made to look better than he really is. I don't think the 1 round KO is the reason he Dawson is going downhill. By far the best light heavyweight bout is Kovolev vs Beterbiev in my opinion.

I disagree about Cotto, he got a new trainer, he adapted his style well, he was sensible. Martinez is a legend and he was very animated for the fight, I don't think his age has caught up with him. I must say if you have only seen Trout against Lara then you must really think he is average, he is a much better fighter than that fight suggested.

You're right, I was out of line, I should not have been rude, all I can do is apologise. Off the record, did you see Bradley vs Chaves? Anyway it's good to talk to you as always and this is a bit late but happy new year.
