One of my all time favorite fights. Also a fight that I find myself scoring differently each time that I watch it.

I know man, it is that ninth round that stands out for me, that is probably the hardest round to score ever in the sport, isn't it sad that Hagler never fought again, you'll laugh at this but maybe it was possible that Hagler was so strong and dangerous that he never understood how the technical aspects of boxing worked as he thought he got robbed, I can see it 7-5 either way, I actually forgot to say before I totally agree about what you said about there being far more close rounds in boxing than people make out.

You must be dying to see Mayweather vs Pacquiao, I know I am. To be honest I think people are biased towards both fighters and whatever I might say about Floyd as a person he is a great champion and a boxing legend and those who say he keeps his unbeaten record on May the second make a justifiable case. Are you still predicting Floyd beats Manny 8-4? If so then fair enough, I just think that it will start very tentative and will get booed, I think it will be a battle of the counter punches, a battle between speed vs timing. I think it will pick up as it goes on, I think they will beat each other to the jab very often, I think that the jab to the body will give Manny a lot of problems but ultimately I think stamina is the difference and Manny will use his athleticism as he takes over in the last 3 or 4 rounds as Mayweather tires, I do think it will be anybody's fight after 8 or 9 rounds, then again Mayweather does tend to work his opponents out as the fight goes on and cause them to run out of ideas. I know none of you guys in the USA can wait for the fight. Did you see Porter vs Bone last weekend and Lopez vs Berto? Gotta feel sorry for Lopez dominating the fight like that and then getting stopped controversially and prematurely, I think he could have weathered the storm and pulled it back his way, I don't know if you saw it but I loved that rocky like count when Bone was knocked under the ropes, hilarious.

Here's something that made me think of you Champ that I read the other day. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2376272-delusional-fans-guide-to-mayw...

To be 100% honest with you I really haven't had the chance to watch boxing in the last week or two. Part of it goes towards a set of stories that I am trying to get published and between that and work and my own time at the boxing gym I really haven't had that much time. I did see the all time classic Ward vs Augustus the other day though and that fight in a way was very similar to this one. The difference though is that I think Ward's aggression is slightly overrated in that fight and he was getting caught constantly due to his lack of any defence ability. I do agree with you in your synopsis on Hagler, but in a close fight no matter what happens both fighters are going to think that they won no matter what. That's just how it is and how real winners think.

Anyways though I'm still thinking that Floyd will get better as the megafight progresses but I can see the fight going from many different ends. I can see it both yours and mine but even still I'm not expecting a slug fest. The best Floyd fight I can remember would be his fight with Maidana last year and the other one (I think his name was Dejesus) some years before. Hopefully something like that will happen, but I'm not putting money on it. The only other big fight right now that I can think of that's going on is Peterson vs Garcia. I don't know about you but I'm still predicting something of like a 6-4 decision for Peterson. Oh and yes I'm still going with Floyd in an 8-4 decision. Am I missing any other fights? I'm a bit behind and those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Lee vs Quillin is a big fight, there aren't that many coming up but Provodnikov vs Matthysse is a thrilling one, I think the winner of that fight should face Danny Garcia, so a rematch I think, I would like Peterson to win but I think that his Rhythm gets sloppy in the later stages sometimes, he can get pretty careless and he is not the fastest of starters, I think Danny Garcia can use his skills to counter effectively, not that this means he has a chance against someone like Kell Brook or Shawn Porter, it is laughable to think he would have a chance against Thurman.

Hagler had every right to protest his victory but he never fought gain and actually thought he was robbed, crazy. How is your writing going? I've been meaning to ask you actually I know you like English but do you like acting?, I take it your still getting better at boxing, I have a had a horrible couple if months, I had to take 7 weeks away from the gym due glandular fever, the doctor said rest and no strenuous exercise for a long time and most people would love an excuse to do nothing and just chill but for me it was more like torture. Did you hear about what happened to Brendan Smith? It can be a very hardcore and very dangerous sport and things like that they just happen.

Only do this if you want to but you could read my round by round analysis of Floyd vs Manny or maybe just read a bit of it, although we are split about the winner I think you will think agree Manny will win his rounds the way I said he would and vise vurser. I think it is all about the later rounds and for me it is all about gas in the tank, will Floyd take over by being the man with the more ideas and win the battle of tactics or am I right and Roach has a plan that keeps Manny's work rate up then Floyd will tire? It is a fact that Mayweather can't box at Pacquiao pace for 12 rounds, it is just a question of whether he can use his technical skills to slow the pace down in enough rounds to win the fight, I really don't think it will be action packed, in fact I think if will disappoint, I think Khan and Brook could fight later in the year, there are so many great fights put there when you think about it, Did you see Thurman vs Guerrero and Broner vs Molina the other week, I thought Thurman delt with the ghost better than Mayweather did and Broner looked much faster than ever on his feet and his timing had really improved, I think a Maidana vs Broner rematch should happen, the winner takes on Khan, then the winner takes in Kell Brook, welterweight trust gets crazier by the day.
