Hey buddy, been a while since we seen you in Eye on the ring!

Hey Champs, I know right! Been a long while, ended up moving across the country earlier this year from one coast to another, been a crazy year, but looking forward to getting back into the Eye more!

Sorry for the late reply, that's great, your a great addition to the site, where did you move to?

Just like everyone, I thought this was a great fight that was extremely close and could have truly went either way. This may be one of the rare instances in which, had this fight been scored a split-decision in favor of Ward, instead of the super-close unanimous decision, it would have validated the decision more. With the fight being so close, at least one scorecard for Kovalev would have been more just but I don't have a problem with the final scorecards. My opinion is this fight could have went 7-5 in favor of Kovalev or Ward or 6-6. Hard for me to find anyway to score the fight any wider than 115-112 for Kovalev or 114-113 for Ward. Def not a "robbery" but certainly controversial. I though Max Kellerman did a good job of pointing out the difference between a BAD decision and a CONTROVERSIAL one. This falls into the latter. Either way a great fight that def needs to have a rematch ASAP. I thought Rounds 1-3 were clear Kovalev rounds, round 4 for Ward, round 5 was closer, round 6 for Kovalev, rounds 7-9 for Ward, round 10 very very close could have gone either way, round 11 for Ward, and round 12 very close as well and could have went either way. All of that being said, I can't find any major issues with anyone's scorecard. Kovalev did enough to win; and Ward showed true Championship grit to come back in the 2nd half of the fight after a disastrous start. Bring on the rematch!!

Hey buddy, I forgot to reply to this comment.

Well pal, I think you mean, everyone else who understands, loves and truly appreciates the sport. Oh yes, it would have been nice to see a split decision, and in a fight this close, 7-5 either way max, so the knockdown elimates the possibility of Andre Ward getting anything more than a victory by a round, but I believe he pulled it off. I think had this fight been a split decision it would just have been an easier defeat to handle for Kovalev, and it would have just been more convenient to havs seen some evidence of the fact that the winner was a matter lf subjectivity and opinion. The thing is, it shouldn't be controversial, HBO were awful, saying Kovalev clearly won the fight, idiots. That is the one thing we can disagree on, I don't think he did a good job with anything, neither did his collegues, I thinkhe says things like that to save face, and make himself look clever. People out there need to learn about when and where the fight is subjective. I would love to see a rematch, but Kathy Duva needs to accept that Ward pulled the victory out the bag, it is officially a win, and it is legitimate and valid, he's the undefetaed one, he's the champion, he's the A-side, she has been very disrespectful, and bitter, if people expect Ward to agree to the rematch, they need to show him the repsct he deserves, and this sounds a bit too human for the sport of boxing, but let the the man have a nice christmas with his family, no fighter deserves to be bullied into a rematch. I believe something along thoss lines, I don't agree 100% with that round by round assessment, but I agree with at least 92% of it, either one of us could be right. I agree, they both did enough to potentially win.

Jack vs Degale, and Thurman vs Garcia, which are you looking forwrad to more?

Hey Champs sorry for the late reply-
Agree with everything you have to say and I actually agree with you on HBO even though I somewhat liked what Max had to say, overall they were awful like you said. I also like what you had to say about Kathy Duva not accepting the outcome. Like you said, it was legitimate whether she likes it or not and Ward did win, is the undefeated fighter and is the A-side.
As far as myself, I moved from New England (Rhode Island) to California - traded the snow and ice for sunshine lol...
Personally, I can't wait for Thurman vs. Garcia!!! Although both of those fights should be awesome and I'm looking forward to both of them

No worries man.

I think he knew the right thing to say, in my eyes he's no better, if nothing else, the way he dealt with Manny Pacquiao being defeated by Floyd Mayweather showed me that.

What a journey that must have been! I definitely want to live in America one day, I find all the states very interesting.

Me too, who you think wins?, I'm going with Thurman.
