Very interesting fight, do you think Lara was actually robbed?, or do you agree that it was a very close fight that could have gone either way? I agree that Lara won, but I thought Williams out worked him in many rounds, especially rounds 4 and 5.

I thought that Lara was robbed in this fight.I thought I gave rounds 4 and 5 to williams.

I know you did, sorry if my comment seemed rude, I wasn't analysing your card, I was just analysing the fight and the divided fans opinions.

That's fine. I didn't perceive it as rude.

That's a relief. Lara did box beautifully at times, and I think he would have easily won had he trained harder, I thought he was unlucky not to have got the decision against Canelo, have you seen that fight?

I thought the canelo lara fight was a draw. That fight could of gone either way. The result might be different because I watched the fight that someone recorded that was at the event. Do you know anywhere else on the internet where I can watch a better quality of lara vs canelo? One judge on that fight had it 117-111 for canelo which I thought was crazy.

Mate I'm sorry, wish I could help you, but to be honest, it is one of the few fights that I also can not find anywhere for the life of me, but I'm sure it will come along in HD in youtube at some stage, just for the record, it was a disputable fight, but I thought it was a poor fight, I thought Lara was lazy, and Canelo let the pressure, bad blood and frustration get to him, I can't wait for Cotto vs Canelo, that will be a great, close fight, but I think Miguel wins, but I think Canelo still has his best years ahead of him. I know there is a lot of bad blood between Gennady Golovkin and Andre Ward, I think Golovkin has been unreasonable, one minute insisting Ward fights him, and then the next minute calling out Cotto and ignoring Ward, I think because Ward would be more comfortable at light heavyweight than middleweight, and I think he should leave GGG to the winner of Canelo vs Cotto, and go up to fight Kovolev, if there was one fight I could see, it would be that one.

Yeah that's fine that fight is hard to find in hd. I'm excited as well for canelo vs cotto. I honestly can't decide on who I think will win. I can see canelo winning, but I can also see cotto out boxing him as well The thing that I don't like about the triple g and ward feud and pretty much a lot of the time is that as fans we want to see the big fights and wait a while to see them.

The main and easiest to explain reason I think Cotto beats Canelo is because of their last fights, we could use Paul Williams as a measuring stick as to how he did against Lara in comparison to Martinez, and how emphatically Cotto schooled and stopped Martinez in comparison to how close Canelo vs Lara was, which goes in Cotto's favour big time, but a better way of looking at it is how Canelo and Kirkland had a three round war with each other, and showered each other with many, many heavy punches, and Canelo was the one who hot only seemed to have an edge in the battle, but then delivered the finishing blow, but although this was a devastating knockout, so was that beautiful Cotto left hook that was named punch of the month, and Geale was never in it, he had virtually no success, it takes 2 to tango, and Kirkland played his part in a great war, whereas Cotto vs Geale was a true mismatch, Cotto couldn't miss, Geale couldn't land, I question the defence of Canelo, the mental strength of him too, what I mean by that is how he struggled to keep it together and stay composed when Lara and Trout gave him trouble and when Mayweather was nullifying him, Cotto is very calm, very composed, and he is experienced, he can handle the pressure.

Yeah that's true. Cotto has the experience on the big stage. He fought pacquiao he gave mayweather a tough fight, and has beat tougher opponents than canelo. When canelo fought mayweather, he looked bad.

Champion97's picture

He did, and that was because he was not composed, and he could not retreat, he could not take the frustration of being unable to hit his opponent clean, he thought "what's the point?, I can't do this', and just mentally faded, I was not impressed with Mayweather either in that fight, I thought the whole fight was rubbish, Mayweather should have thrown more punches, he should not have let any late rounds slip away, he was in total control, but he did little, I just feel as if Canelo's punches are too slow, I think he will defiantly be physically stronger than Miguel, but I think Miguel can roll under his punches, and the more rounds slip away from Canelo, the more frustrated he will become, I think Miguel timing is superior, so is his hand speed, I think he will set a fast pace and Canelo will tire, I do think the middle rounds will be close, when Canelo does land a bomb, everyone will know it, he may even drop Miguel, but I do not think he can hurt him anywhere near enough to stop him, I think the fight will be close, because Canelo is not slow, has immense timing, is extremely strong, and can break Cotto's rhythm, I do think Canelo's thunderous uppercuts will test Miguel, I think he will pass the tests, but I do not think Miguel will be anywhere near unmarked after 12 rounds are completed, I can see him winning a conclusive but not one sided unanimous decision, and then he should fight GGG.

Do you have sky sports or box nation subscriptions by chance? If so, do you think it is worth getting?

Champion97's picture

Yes, yes and yes, both of them are great. I think boxnation is better in that buncey, lilis and Jones just make the channel very entertaining, and they talk so mmuch sense, sky sports can really make you nervous, it is so intriguing, and Nick Halling and Jim Watt, dispute getting overexcited and commentate inaccurately occasionally, really express the punches, if you know what I mean, and make the fights more dramatic, if I could suggest getting one, I would say boxnation, but both are great. so are you in the UK?

I live in America would that still effect my chances of getting it? How much do they cost?

Champion97's picture

To be honest, I'm not sure how much it would cost for you, I think Sky sports covers mostly HBO, and Boxnation covers mostly showtime, I would suggest getting showtime, I will probably be a lot easier for you to see all these big fights living in the US (which is where I want to live one day)than in the UK. You could maybe message some of the EOTR scorers who are also from the US, which is most scorers.
