Great fight, they promised a Mexican style war and they delivered. Both guys were willing to trade power punches with little regard for defense, but Berchelt was just too powerful, big, and had too good of combination punching for Roman despite how much heart Roman showed. I don't think Berchelt versus Farmer or Davis is possible which is a shame, I think he would destroy Farmer but him versus Davis would be a fantastic and evenly matched fight. Berchelt vs. Machado would be another good war that unfortunately can't happen because of promotional divides. Berchelt vs. Ito seems more viable promotionally as long as the money is there and would be a great war even though Berchelt would be a large favorite. I'm happy to hear there are talks of Lomachenko vs. Berchelt. I was unhappy they never fought while Lomachenko was at Super Featherweight, the fight is possible to make promotionally and Berchelt is a worthy opponent. Berchelt is somewhat limited technically and is easily hittable, but I think he can give Loma some issues and he is not hopeless like Sosa, Marriaga, Walters, etc. Loma did not like when Salido worked his body and imposed his size, those are both things Berchelt can do. While Berchelt does not have the technical ability or ring IQ of Salido, Berchelt is bigger than Salido and punches way harder than Salido. I'd definitely favor Lomachenko but Berchelt has a decent chance to win.
