This doesn't seem to be the most popular fight in the world.

No, I was very disappointed with this fight.

I wonder if maybe Ortiz was boxing with an unknown disadvantage.

I honestly don't know how he didn't stop Scott. He could knock out Bryant Jennings but not this guy.

I haven't seen the fight yet, but I doubt Ortiz would carry him, especially with him having dropped him three times, and with that power, and the relative vulnerability of Malik Scott, did Ortiz tire?, that's not a good sign in a slow paced, flat footed, lazy fight, when he's having everything going how own way, decline with age maybe?, I wouldn't have seen that coming, he is 37, but he's not had a long career, certainly not a hard one, he started late, and he is a heavyweight, I don't know, maybe just an off night, I'll know more when I've seen the fight, and because you have, you know more about the fight and what it could mean than I do.

Ortiz didn't seem to tire. I think he was trying to land one big shot and knock him out. I think it could of been an off night for him, who knows? I think age isn't showing for him yet. Since he got a late start I think he still has a few good years left in him. He hasn't taken any punishment or been knocked out yet so we'll have to see how long he lasts.

It did seem unlikely to me, mind you, he does carry a bit of timber, you just don't know whether that's due to under training, or residual excess from his pre training regime shape. Yeah it makes sense, it just occurred to me, and I'll tell you something I do know, his days of being unclean, that will factor heavily against him in the long run, it could maybe even cancel out his late start, I don't know, it's hard to say, I'm definitely a bit disappointed in Ortiz's performance tonight, especially seeing as, apparently, Scott didn't exactly make a good account of himself either.

Yeah, who knows why Ortiz went the distance with Malik Scott. Another guess I would have is that he overlooked him and thought his power would end it early even if he didn't throw much. It was a bad performance by Ortiz, but Scott was just awful. It looked like he didn't even want to fight.

Did you see Thurman and Garcia go at it last night at the post fight interview?

Champion97's picture

That's a possibility, but it's difficult to put it down to that entirely, because one would think Ortiz would have what it takes to to make Scott increasingly vulnerable as the round so on, especially with him having good hurt him in the early - mid stages. Bleacher report said in round 3 'Scott throws a punch, I repeat, Scott throws a punch!', big news.

I saw it, very entertaining stuff, I was surprised to see Angel Garcia holding his son back, and being the calmer of the two. Thurman was his usual self, but I was surprised to see Garcia getting so animated, I think what we saw last night helped the fight. I think we'll see a different Danny Garcia, and it will be a great fight, I think Thurman wins, but I think it's difficult, and the fight is very competitive, I think there may be a rematch. I think it is so great the way the fight is being up, they're going at against each other, but they're not going at against each other too much, not much swearing, no serious threats of overall harm, and in interviews, as they calm down, you can see there's respect between the two of them, I can't wait for the fight. How do you see the fight going?

What's your take on Terence Crawford vs John Molina Jr?, I'm very much looking forward to the fight, I did the think it's a bad match up, Crawford has already beaten a top guy this year, and won a supposed 50/50 fight easily, he has the right to an easier fight in my opinion, he's not fighting a bum, he's fighting an experienced opponent who's extremely durable, and when he's on form (he should be on better form then ever in this fight), is very good, I can't wait to see the fight, it could be competitive. I think after upsetting Ruslan Provodnikov, John Molina is deserving of the big opportunity.
