I'm very impressed that Ruiz was able to make this a close fight, would you like to tell me about the fight?, I'm not sure when I'll be able to watch it.

Sorry for the late response, but yeah I enjoyed the fight. The right guy won, but I thought it could've went either way. Joseph Parker showed he was a true champion that night and really dug deep to get the win. Ruiz showed that he is a very tough fighter. A rematch should happen in the future.

I just scored this fight, I have a few close rounds different to you, but we both had Parker by a couple in the end. Ruiz really impressed me throughout, British pundits (and good ones!) feel Ruiz should be disappointed with his performance, I agree to an extent, and even of I didn't, I'm not going against Bunce and Lilis (the experts!), but in my opinion, had Ruiz put his foot on the peddle in rounds 4-7, dipped with those shoulders, feinted, quickened up those fast feet, and opened up, I belueve that would only have brought more out of Parker, I believe both had more in the tank. I would love to see a rematch, I think it makes sense given that maybe both could have put a little more into it, and the fans have been left wanting more, but this was a great, close fight which could have gone either way, and both were very impressive, so a rematch is a great idea, but it depends on whether or not Hughie Fury is mandatory for the WBO title, if he is, then that's a great fight too.

We had 3 different rounds I think. I don't remember which commentary was on on the fight I watched because I turned it off. If I remember correctly rounds 4-7 were close but Parker did a little bit more in those rounds to win those rounds. Ruiz showed a lot in this fight. He definitely proved a lot of people wrong about him with this performance. I would love to see a rematch between the 2 to remove all doubts, it should happen soon. I heard that the winner of Parker vs Ruiz (which is Parker) will fight Haye next, but I don't think it will happen because Haye is fighting Bellew.

Four, but they were all close rounds, for example rounds three, Ruiz foming forwrar with that jab, landing more punches overall, Parker landing the slightly better punches. Just out lf interest, does that help?, I remember when you new to the site and you asked some questions (I very much enjoyed answreing them) but the question of whether or not turning the sound of is a good idea was a question I couldn't really answer, because it benefits some, but not others, if you asked me now, I would say those who are distrusting the commentry shouls not, but it is a good idea for those who just find it easier to focus on the fight. Yes, he did just enough to win, I think maybe Ruiz coukd have pushed the fight a little but more than he did, but maybe that would only have brought more out of Parker, I guess that's somthing we would find out about in a rematch. No it's more likely it's Hughie Fury who's facing Parker, unless Fury takes the WBC route, in which case, I the rematch could happen.

It can be helpful turning off the sound during a fight. It's all at random if I watch a fight with the sound off. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Like if I'm watching a fight on tv I don't mute it but if I'm on youtube watching fights I'm more likely to do turn sound off. There were a lot of close rounds. I'm surprised I was the only one to give round 3 to Parker. I thought that was a very close round. I think Ruiz took his foot of the gas in the mid rounds and lost the fight there if anything, but it was still a very close fight. I'm going to rewatch this fight sometime soon. Hughie Fury isn't a bad option for Parker if the Ruiz rematch can't be next for whatever reason that is.

Yes it depends. Well there are only four scorecards. I think it's more about whether or not Fury takes the WBO route rather than whether or not Ruiz is up for the rematch.

I bet if more cards are made then some will have him winning that round. We'll wait to see what happens next for Parker. Boxing can be suprising.

Yes, we have many decent judges on EOTR, we're not analyst standard (although Boxing Knowledge and Christianthepearson are not far off), byt we're okay, and going by that, I highly doubt nobody else will give Parker that round. Yes it can!

I don't about you, but I'm very much looking forward to Francisco Vargas vs Miguel Berchelt, I think should be very interesting.

I know that Vargas is fighting either next month or Febuary. To be honest, I never heard of his opponent before.

Champion97's picture

I have, I've only seen him fight once, he stopped George Jupp in 6. Very fascinating fight in my opinion.

Haven't seen him fight. It will be interesting to see how he does.

Yes, I think Salido vs Vargas II could also happen at some point in the future, of so that should be a popular one!

Salido vs Vargas 2 would be great. Did you see the first fight?

Champion97's picture

Yep. No I didn't, but I know the fans loved it.

Did you see the first fight?

I saw it and had it a draw. The fight is in my top 10 of the year.

Apparently it was extremely positive.
