You see my heavyweight top 10 and best prospects? Let me know your thoughts. Going to post a division a day, so should have Cruisers up today.

Do you think that this could've went either way or a clear Charlo victory?

Champion97's picture

The judges definitely scored it clear, but I don't know, I don't like 116-112, 119-108 seems corrupt. I think it could have gone either way, Korobov boxed extremely well, Charlo had a lot of faults, and he couldn't really hurt Korobov until the last round, but I still think Charlo edged the fight, and officially, it was not close. At the end of the day, whether it was a clear victory or not, it was not an impressive performance from Charlo.

Here is the vault for this month's predictions, make your picks whenever, or if you don't want to be in this montn that's fine, up to you, but here is the vault.

Uzcategui vs Plant
Jennings vs Rivas
Andrade vs Akavov
Linares vs Cano
Pacquiao vs Broner
Jack vs Browne
Warren vs Oubaali
Thurman vs Lopez
Marrero vs Nyambayar
Munguia vs Inoue

I think the cards didn't represent how close the fight was. I think if Korbov had more power this could've made it a tougher fight then it was for Charlo. I don't think it matters that it's close, it matters that it was a bad night for the bigger Charlo.

Any word on when Inoue and Rodriguez are supposed to fight? Nothing is listed on boxrec for either of them. Also I like the Degale vs Eubank fight as well. I thought it was going to happen at some point.

Uzcategi stops plant round 9
Rivas beats Jennings by 10th round stoppage
Andrade beats Akarov by UD
Pacquaio beats Broner by UD
Jack beats Brown by SD
Warren beats Oubaali by Ud
Thurman stops Lopez round 4
Manguia beats Inoue by 6th round stoppage

I had it closer. Definitely, and even if Korobov had been younger and in the prime of his career, if this Korobov can go 12 and win a good 4 rounds against Charlo, what would have the Korobov who beat Uzcategui and fought Lee have done against him? Yes, and I think his brother losing was a factor.

No, but I know Rodriguez's camp will be in Cuba. The fight should be confirmed soon. Should be a great fight, I think Inoue, but it will be competitive. Yeah I like that fight, DeGale is a little bit better than Eubank, but Eubank is in his prime, DeGale is past his.

Linares vs Cano
Marrero vs Nyambayar

Do you want to wait a week or two before making those predictions?, or did you forget them?

Oh yeah, there's a lot of different variables that could've changed the outcome of the fight. Seeing his brother losing could've messed with his head a bit.

I think it's the most underrated fight out there. I hope it gets confirmed with a date soon. I think it will be competitive but I think Inoues power will make a difference. I think Eubank will win to. You got him by decision or stoppage?

Linares by 4th round ko
Still need to research this one

Also, any word on the Wilder Fury fight? I haven't heard anything in a while about a potential rematch.

Champion97's picture

Sorry for being unclear, I think a draw. I am rooting for DeGale, because Eubank is one of my least favourite fighters, but I think a draw.

I think the winner of Inoue vs Rodriguez will have an easier time in the final, not saying the winner of Tete vs Donaire isn't good, isn't a threat, but I just think Inoue and Rodriguez are better, as they are in their primes.

No me neither, Wilder wants the rematch, that much is clear, does Fury?, we'll see.

I'm still thinking Eubank will win the fight, but I don't know who I'm rooting for yet, I don't feel either way about either fighter.

I agree on that, I think Inoue and Rodriguez are better then the other two, and will have an easier time. Not saying they're bad at all.

We'll see what's next a rematch should happen soon. I'd love to see it in the summer.

Champion97's picture

Good for you, but I hate everything Eubank stands for, and he's still talking himself up by bringing up old sparring sessions. I hope he loses, but I think a draw. The pressure is on Eubank, but this is a 50/50 fight, DeGale is better in all liklihood, but timing is very important in boxing.

But does Fury want it?

Khan opting to go for Crawford and not Brook, people over here are not happy, Khan will always be very unpopular now, but I don't blame him, it is a great opportunity. For Crawford, it's definitely better than facing Collazo, and given his opposition over the last couple of years, can't complain about him fighting Khan. Your thoughts?

I'm not a big fan of Eubank Jr, I don't dislike him either, I just think he's overrated and don't pay attention much. For Degale, some things in the way he fights bothers me. I like the fight though and I will watch. I only really watch Eubank jr when he's in a big fight like this.

I guess we'll see soon.

Honestly I like the fight with Crawford instead of Brook. I think Khan still has some left in him to give Crawford for somewhat of a tough fight. He is a very good boxer in my opinion. He'll box pretty well until he gets stopped in my opinion. He reminds me a lot of Kovalev in terms of physical issues holding them back. I like the fight a lot. Great name fight for Crawford.

Champion97's picture

Good, that's the best way to think.

I don't know, I think Brook vs Khan would have been more entertaining, because they are better matched.

Do you think Abner Mares gives Gervonta Davis his toughest fight so far?

I just like to focus on other fighters then Eubank. I think his dad talks a lot of nonsense.

That's true.

I don't know to be honest, I just wish Davis would fight someone in his weight class. I like him but he can't be trashing Farmer and Lomachenko when he's fighting someone like Mares.

Champion97's picture

He's as bad, they are bad for different reasons, Eubank needs to stop talking about sparring. It's good not to get wound up by the Eubanks.

They don't get along, they will say all sorts about each other, given where Tank comes from, I commend him for not being more aggressive than he is outside of the ring. In an ideal world, we wouldn't know about what is said, because it doesn't matter, they have respect for each other. I don't agree about his opposition, because Mares is a level above Fonseca, and I think he's better than Pedraza. I think Davis has the potential to be a top level fighter, but he has to live the life, he cannot keep getting in trouble, getting out of shape, and taking his potential for granted. I think Mares will give Davis his toughest fight so far, but not really a tough fight, because Davis has had an easy career so far. The Farmer unification should definitely happen in my opinion, do you think Farmer would give Davis problems?

They just don't bother me because I know they are overrated, and most boxing fans know it too.

I think Davis is poorly promoted to be honest, hes spoken out on it multiple times. I think that he's been very fortunate in his career in some aspects, like the whole super champ ordeal. I'm not saying Mares is bad, but he's coming up in weight and off a loss, it's just not a good look. If he were fighting Santa Cruz that would be a different story. I think the Farmer fight will be tricky at the start for Davis, then once he figures him out he'll end it. I believe Davis is a level above Farmer. What do you think?
