That's a picture of Teofemale Lopez I gather.

SalTnutZ1's picture

Yeah. I had been mulling a new pic, and was down between him, GGG, and Wilder. Am going to try to rotate it, and do a few little pieces previewing the fights of the week, and some fighter profiles once in awhile. May do one on him first, highlighting career, goods/bads, potential paths. Will change out the pic as I profile a different guy. Killing time, as I have 2 days before I go fingerprint and do my background check for a new job that should start next Monday. Nervous and bored energy after 1+ months out of work. Longest I've been without a job in 10 years.

Champion97's picture

Ok, I thought you had read my comment stating my opinion, wanted to defend Teo without getting into a pointless debate.

Good luck with getting a new job. I'm nervous myself as I have a driving theory test on Wednesday, and might not pass this time.

SalTnutZ1's picture

Is that like the American version of our "written test", as opposed to our actual driving test, where they test your skills as a driver on the road or test course?

Champion97's picture

I don't think so, it's on the computer, it's about road knowledge and hazard awareness, I hate it, but I have to do it if I want to take my practical test, which is key to me getting my life back on track, independence, getting to job interviews, etc. I took this very test 3 years ago, it was just after Fury beat Klitschko, I did no revision, just pretended to be Tyson Fury, I thought if Fury can beat Klitschko, I can pass this, I failed it, but this time, I have taken it seriously, revised, and if I fail, I'll give it another month.

SalTnutZ1's picture

You'll make it buddy. Over here, in varies state by state, but where I am, you had to do a written test, testing your knowledge on traffic laws, what road signs are indicating, etc. Following that, you have to have a permit, which is where you go out with an officer and they test you on specific driving skills, knowledge on your vehicles operating system, etc, and where you are driving either at specific "safe" time frames, or with another licensed driver. Then after 6 months, you get your full license. Long process either way.

Champion97's picture

Hope so man, if I fail, I will keep reaplying, every month, good luck with your job hunt pal.

Someone once told me that driving is like riding a bike, and if you have a couple of years away from driving, there isn't much car rust, so given that I took driving lessons before I got ill, I am less nervous about the driving itself than the theory.

Champion97's picture

I failed my test, will take it at the end of March. How's the job hunt going?

SalTnutZ1's picture

I’m sorry bud, I know that sucks. What portion is proving difficult?

I went through a background check and fingerprinting for a new Governmemt gig today, that would begin in a few weeks, just have to wait for them to send me an official offer, which should be next week. Working with a job placement group now for some short term work in the meantime, for bills and such.

Champion97's picture

Thanks man. Mainly the multiple choice questions.

Sounds like things are looking up for you career wise, hopefully you get the offer soon and get the job your looking for.

How about that DAZN card which just got confirmed?, good fights I think, especial Rungvasai vs Estrada II.

SalTnutZ1's picture

Solid card for sure. Anthony Sims fighting, I think I saw Vargas as well(which I heard he wants Munguia at 154 after they both get their fights out of the way). Nice little scraps. I have to still play some catchup, as I still haven't gotten to Ramirez-Zepeda card, Soto-Rios card, Rob Brant card, and Dirrell-Yildirim. Too much going on, haha

Champion97's picture

I have some catching up to do myself.

I think it's a great card, I don't see how Roman vs Doheny, Rungvasai vs Estrada II couldn't deliver. I thought we would see Vargas vs Dulorme II, first fight was a draw, was a good fight. At 154, would Vargas give Munguia problems? I think he is better than anyone Munguia has beaten, but only slightly better than Liam Smith, and he would be at a size disadvantage, but still, he was massive for 140, he is big enough that he could be fairly strong at 154, but he is inexperienced at the weight, Munguia is big for the weight. I think Vargas would make that fight interesting, might test Munguia's technical skill in the early rounds, but I think Munguia wins that, by stoppage as well. I think the Smith fight was what Munguia needed, it was a good learning fight, he went 12 rounds, got good experience.

SalTnutZ1's picture

Yeah. Vargas has skills, but as you said, would be at a huge size disadvantage, and without the power to dissuade the kid. He could box him, but Munguia can do that pretty well himself, when he isn’t slinging bombs. I think, eventually one would land to the body or head, and that would be the end of the night for Vargas. If he were naturally the same size, I’d give him a much better shot due to his boxing ability and experience.

I'm about to start a forum page, about adding amateur fights, I will enjoy adding Teofemale's defeat, but I do think it's just a good idea in general, and also interesting when it comes to scoring close Olympic fights, so don't take it as purely a way to shred the nastiest kid in boxing.

SalTnutZ1's picture

Hahaha. I'm fine with it buddy. I don't take it personally. I'm not Lopez, lol. I've thought about doing something similar with WSB fights, and doing some reviews on some of the higher profile ones(Kuzmin-Hrgovic, Joyce-Usyk, etc)

Champion97's picture

Great! I have a problem with Lopez, not his fans! If I add his loss, I will add a lot of other fights as well, so the idea will be mostly about getting the close, significant fights on here, I will enjoy scoring Lopez's defeat, but will call him by his real name, I don't like him, but I won't go overboard.

SalTnutZ1's picture

What I remember of watching him as an amateur, for what it's worth, was struggles at times using his athleticism to his advantage in an amateur setting, where you use it to set up a number of scoring shots rather than power shots as you know. And, again related to his athletic ability, I believe he relied to much on it at times in the unpaid ranks, rather than combining it with the real boxing skills and power he has, which he has adapted to better in the pros, as you can see as he's slowed down and worked range, developed his tenor as a fighter, etc, in his fights with Silva and Magdaleno.

Champion97's picture

I'm not sold on Lopez as a great athlete, he has power though, and Barry Jones is very impressed by his judgement of distance, I have to acknowledge that even if I don't like him, still, I don't think he is a particularly good athlete, stamina is untested.

SalTnutZ1's picture

I don't think you can a standing back flip without being a good athlete, lol. But, for sure, stamina untested. Waiting to see them match him up where he is tested. Doesn't look like anyone who would be a step up, like a Pedraza, wants any part of that fight right now, so we'll see what's next.

Champion97's picture

How about Flanagan vs Lopez? I mean that would prove me right or wrong, we would have a much better idea of where Lopez is at.
