You think it was clear for Alvarez? Or a 2 point swing either way?

Hey, how have you been?

I think it's a clear win for Alvarez.

Watching it for a second time has only made me more adamant about this.

I would have no qualms giving it to Canelo 8-4 .

HIs body of work (pun intended) was much greater than G's over the course of 12 rounds; he stalked the "boogeyman" all night, dominated the ring generalship, made GGG miss more, got off first and landed the harder, cleaner shots throughout the fight barring the last few rounds. Canelo bludgeoned GGG's body even more emphatically than I thought when watching it live.

It was such a comprehensive performance.

Canelo has now entered the pantheon of great Mexican fighters alongside the likes of Barrera, Morales, Chavez, Sanchez etc.

Not too bad, and yourself?

I predicted Alvarez by UD, 7-5 or 8-4.

Definitely, for taking centre ring, aggression, consistent attacking, you have to say Alvarez was much superior. I think Golovkin's defence was better than Alvarez's this time. I don't dispute he landed the harder punches, cleaner as well, definitely in terms of power shots, for 9 rounds, but Golovkin with those stand out shots, late, the praise I'd give Alvarez at that stage of the fight is for his chin.

I think the biggest factor was Alvarez being able to push Golovkin back, once he was able to do that, Golovkin had a big problem.

Here is my problem with over-praising Alvarez, we just saw him beat a 36 year old Golovkin, whether or not Golovkin would have beaten him had he been a few years younger, we'll never know, but prime on prime, I don't rate Alvarez higher than Golovkin.

No disputing that, not at all, but, if any of the 6 (Murata, Jacobs, Charlo, Saunders, Derevyanchenko, Andrade) beat him, an explanation will be that he got Golovkin at the right time, and without that aspect, he wouldn't have won, however, we won't be able to say much about the age factor in the Golovkin fight of he beats a couple of them, definitely not if he decisively beats any one of those potential challengers.

In my opinion, after seeing it twice, it could have gone either way, and it wasn't a cleae victory, that's the way I saw it, I thought it was anybody's fight, I think Golovkin's jab was brilliant, often, he was more accurate, and for tne duration of some of the rounds, he was doing all the work.
