Wasn't impressed by either of these guys coming up. However, I favored Sanchez, since he had the fast hands and counters to expose Ajagba's robotic, poor movement. Still, I thought it might be a bit more competitive than this.

Sanchez showed himself to be a very well schooled Cuban style boxer, and he easily picked Ajagba off on the back foot. Previous poor fights are probably down to him fighting to the level of competition, since even in this fight, he seemed willing to do just enough to win when he might have been capable of a stoppage win. Still, he has bad habits we see in a lot of Cuban fighters, and I question his cardio. I think coasting on low volume so much will burn him eventually.

As for Ajagba, I think people just got enamored with his size and menacing appearance as a prospect. He is somewhat powerful but not even great there, but that doesn't matter when you're so robotic and slow with a low volume that doesn't allow it to show. In previous fights that were intended as showcases, it was shown he was there to be countered and that opponents could discourage him with landed punches. He barely made it out of those fights with wins, but the flaws really showed here. He might have a career as a gatekeeper if he wants it, but he isn't making the top level.
