The one fight that I've always managed to have a disagreement with somebody on. Still though I'm glad someone gave round 14 to Ali. There's a lot more close rounds than most people realize. Even still though I think that Joe Frazier won his rounds more convincingly than the ones Ali shaded. So even though I had it 8-7 for Ali, I think Frazier was the rightful winner. What are your thoughts on this match? I remember the first time I chatted with someone on EyeonTheRing was about The Fight of the Century.

8-7 Alex, bad judgement, ha no I'm just kidding. Seriously I honestly believe that all judges occasionally themselves get swayed because they prefer one fighter to another, I wouldn't argue with Ali vs Frailer 1 being as narrow as 2 points because there were a lot of close rounds but I honestly thought that although Ali was landing good, telling shots he was being out worked, he did show a lot of heart in that fight though I have to admit. I agree that in general there are more close rounds than people say but if you were referring to Bradley vs Chavez then I strongly disagree. I know what you mean though, my scorecard for Porter vs Brook reads 116-112 for Porter because I believe he won 8 rounds but for me Kell won his rounds more enphatically, Chino won the most one sided round of his fight against Mayweather.

Its been about a year since I watched it so I might have a different opinion on the fight now. Who knows I might look back on this fight and wonder what the hell I was watching. Who knows.

In your defense it is very hard to score eye gripping, competitive rounds sometimes.

There were some close rounds, but to have Ali winning 8 rounds you have to give him the benefit of the doubt in pretty much all the close rounds. Frazier clearly took rounds 6-8, 11-13, and round 15. If you give him those rounds, all you have to do is give him one more round to have him winning on a rounds basis.

I agree with you 100%, you really know your boxing from what I've seen.
