R8- Now Bud is doing some flashy footwork and is busier with the feints, keeping Jean guessing. He is also throwing his jabs and lead lefts with more intent, connecting pretty often. In the later portion of the round, Jean connects with a good overhand right, that Crawford shakes off before hurting him with his own right hand. Despite retreating briefly and nearly turning his back, Jean causes Crawford to walk into another overhand right. Smiling with vengeful intent, Crawford lands a couple of hooks and 1-2’s before Tony Weeks prematurely holds him back, thinking he heard the bell. Fun sequence of action to close out the round, best part of the fight thus far. This was also Jean’s best round, as he landed his two best shots, yet Crawford still did more than enough to win it, and even was the only one to visibly hurt the other.

R7- The right side of Jean’s face has been red since the last round. This round is a jab fest, but Crawford’s speed and dictation of range allows him to be the only one to even land his. Jean only lands about 1-2 punches in the round, but is hit with several jabs and straight lefts throughout, including a left at the end that mildly buckles him.

R6- The right jab of Crawford is preventing Jean from doing anything. A straight left to the gut doesn’t seem to help Jean mentally either. In the final minute, we see Crawford switch back to orthodox, cut off the ring on Jean yet again, and hurt him with an overhand right. This of course provokes Jean to hold, but Crawford still gets in some big hooks to the body before the end.

R5- Funny seeing how disappointed Crawford looks to see Jean heading to his corner in between rounds. The body language of Jean really makes him see tentative. While he is more busy for a while, he honestly seems to be throwing to keep Crawford out of range. Nothing eye-catching is able to land on Crawford, who sends him to the corner with a left. Smiling with menacing intent throughout, Crawford lands all the eye-catching shots, but is unable to successfully follow up on the moment that he hurt Jean.

R4- The probing jab of Crawfordis really throwing Jean off, but he lands a stiff one at times as well. Whenever Jean throws, Bud is making him miss by mere inches with subtle movements and making him pay for leaning in with counter left hands. A straight left rocks Jean late, but he holds on immediately. We also see Bud land some solid hooks in close range.

R3- Jean seems to want to fight defensive, albeit unsuccessfully. The times where he does throw, he is pawing or reaching with his shots, unable to close the gap. Crawford puts the round in the bag due to counter left hands alone.

R2- As Kellerman notes, it’s badass how Crawford stares Jean down from across the ring in between rounds. Crawford is applying physical and mental pressure, while keeping Jean off balance by staying southpaw, feinting, and keeping the jab out, whether it lands or not. Jean isn’t able to land much even at the end when they exchange, which concludes with Crawford landing a flush left and then staggering him with a right hook.
