More:

Jones dominates a grossly out-of-shape Toney to win his second of four titles in different weight classes. The victory established Jones as a serious pound-for-pound entrant, given that many considered Toney among the top two or three best fighters in the world at the time.

rorschach's picture

Toney was a great fighter, but nobody could deal with Jones physical gifts at this time.

I always thought the supposed effect of Toney's weight issues in this fight were somewhat overblown (he always had weight issues and many of the complaints were said after the fight by a self-confident Toney/his camp). At this point in his career, Jones was an incredibly gifted fighter and I don't think any version of James Toney beats this Roy Jones.
