I think both Smith and Blackledge can take a lot of positivity from this fight, it was good for Smith to keep busy, he doesn't carry opponents, so these were genuine rounds, he won every round, some were fairly close, but it was 9-0 with three extra points, and he still found a devastating finish, it was a good performance from him, and that's all he needed in this fight, because he's probably closing in on the bigger fights now, he's proven a lot of his potential already, there's no reason why his fights necessarily have to end early. Even thpugh he was quite brutally knocked out, and that is never a good way to finish a fight, Luke Blackledge should be very rpoud of his performance, I was shocked he was able to go two rounds with Smith, I remember when he got knocked out cold by Rocky Fielding, in round one, Fielding's trainer said he wished Fielding had fought a tougher opponent, and that was in 2013, and when Smith faced Fielding in what was a highly anticipated super middleweight match up, he won in one round, so Smith vs Blackledge was always a mismatch at first glance, but when it came to it, we saw a different Luke Blackledge, he had trained very hard, taken the fight extremely seriously, and he more than did himself justice when it came to it.
