R1- An incredible amount of animosity has been built by both men towards the other going in, making this a real grudge match. Harrison blocks a left hook right away. He is showing patience, but catches Charlo with a couple of jabs and right hands, with the latter being for when Charlo ducks his head low. After this calm start, the fight would intensify for the remaining 10 rounds.

R2- Charlo is showing some adrenaline, as he is rushing in aggressively at times constantly moving, utilizing foot feints. Harrison resorts to holding often due to Charlo rushing in. A few solid exchanges occur, and neither is really able to capitalize. A left hook to the body in a clinch seems to sap some air from Harrison. After eating two rights, Charlo comes back to drop Harrison with a big counter left hook, catching him with an overhand right on the way down. Despite not getting any real time to follow up, Charlo earns himself a big round.

R3- Trying to finish what he started, Charlo pounces on Harrison, getting him against the ropes before rallying. However, Harrison is able to duck and block a lot of these blows with some really slick upper body movement. Charlo does start to penetrate his guard with one twos, but Harrison decides to exchange with him in the pocket. Harrison is doing much better work to the body and with the jab, and clearly is showing the better defense of the two at this point. He also starts to push Charlo back late.

R4- Charlo is having a hard time getting through Harrison’s guard with his jab in the early goings, but it does allow him to set up several hooks to the body. Harrison starts hunt to the body as well, and have actual success with his own jab. The stiff guard of Harrison is allowing him to pick off a lot of Charlo’s shots, but Charlo is catching him with uppercuts, which snap back Harrison’s head twice. After the second of these instances, Harrison lands a pair of left hooks. Great round and a close one, but Charlo got the more eye-catching work done.

R5- It’s clear that Harrison is here with a different gameplan than the last fight. He is keeping the fight in the pocket and walking Charlo down, with his guard keeping too much from getting through. The 1-2 and left hook to the body alike are landing at will. He is also getting in some counter punches and doubling up on his hooks at times. Good round for the champion.

R6- Charlo opens up with a flurry, with the punctuating right hook to the body being the only shot that gets through. Harrison turns his head to the crowd and arrogantly showboats after. The guard of Harrison’s guard has been very impressive, as he is able to see pretty much every shot of Charlo’s coming and therefor catch them. He showboats once again at one point after blocking numerous punches. He is digging to the body well and getting in several uppercuts, with one of them even snapping Charlo’s head back at one point.

R7- Charlo continues to be the busier guy, but also the far less accurate. The straight right of Harrison is getting through often, as he continues to dictate the action and beat Charlo to the punch in the pocket.

R8- For pretty much the first time in any round they have fought thus far, Charlo is able to outjab Harrison, who is sitting back and staying more patient than he had prior in the fight. The jab of Charlo is allowing him to set up some potshots and combinations to the body as well. Harrison showboats yet again after another defensive display, but Charlo certainly got this round.

R9- Harrison picks the pressure back up, walking Charlo down and landing several 1-2’s to his face. The body work is Harrison’s best asset though, as he is really digging in on his power shots to the side and midsection. Despite clearly being outdone, Charlo is still patient and not taking any unecessary chances.

R10- After taking a 1-2-3 in the opening portion, Harrison starts to tag Charlo repeatedly with the jab. Harrison is still showing the better defense of the two at either range, and is following Charlo out of their exchanges with the jab successfully. Charlo lands a solid right hook to the body late, only to get hit by a 1-2 and backed into the ropes by a series of jabs soon after.

R11- Seemingly behind by a good amount, Charlo opens up quick and catches Harrison with a left hook. Harrison evades his entire follow up before showboating as arrogantly as ever. It is odd that Charlo has just been letting Harrison do that all night. Not much happens before Harrison gets in an exchange with Charlo. Despite landing a left hook, Harrison takes a left hook to the body before taking another to the head that wobbles him badly. Charlo rushes him and drops him in the corner with a left hookercut. Harrison gets up, but is clearly hurt. Charlo jolts him again with a left hook and then traps him on the ropes with a head-snapping right hand. Charlo then blasts Harrison with four vicious left hookercuts in a row before putting him down a third and final time with a sharp 1-2 to the head. Charlo celebrates early, and I am shocked that Harrison rose from this knockdown. Charlo gets Harrison on the ropes and starts to tee off. Nothing truly clean to the head lands, but the fight is stopped. I cannot be mad at this call, as I think Charlo would have scored a more convincing and crucial knockout later had the fight been allowed to go on. While the first fight was good, this one was an incredible and instantaneous classic. The fight managing to be a top three to five contender of the incredible year of 2019 is a feat alone for me. I saw this fight on one of the best days of my life thus far. I am shocked that Charlo was ahead on two of the three cards. However, I knew it would not matter, even if I was worried watching Charlo for a bit. Harrison fought a truly awesome fight. He was outdoing Charlo in everything from body punching, defense, jabs, and punch placement, but the willpower, adjustments and power allowed Charlo to get revenge in the best way, and earn himself what I feel should be his second win over Harrison with this. Both showed as to why they were at the top of the game at the time. A two-time champion after this, Charlo would get all the gold in a matter of years. As for Harrison, I do think there is a possibility he beats the undefeated Sebastian Fundora in their rumored matchup, as I do consider him the more formidable fighter of the two despite the tread on his tores. Regardless of how the two fights went between Charlo and Harrison, I would expect a third fight to be similar to how Pacquiao vs Morales 3 or Monzon vs Benvenuti 2 was in favor of Charlo.
