I think this fight proves Ortiz is legit. He's ready for world championship competition. He may lose, but he is by far the best challenger for them. We need to stop the boxing mentality as fans where we celebrate promoters screwing us over and try to protect young stars like we're their manager.

Kavaliauskas was underrated before the Crawford fight. He can't beat elite competition, but he can test and trouble them. He gave Crawford tons of problems in the first 3 rounds including a "slip" that was really a KD. It was harder to tell if it was a KD in this fight, but he definitely had Ortiz thoroughly buzzed. Ortiz proved his metal by sticking to the jab more after being buzzed and wearing Kavaliauskas down in the later rounds. It wasn't a dissimilar from the way Crawford took back control of the fight with Egidijus.

I want to see Ortiz in a title fight as quickly as possible.
