Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

ESPN has confirmed it! The deal is signed! Who do you got?

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

If the same Tyson Fury that showed up against Wilder in the rematch shows up against Joshua, then Joshua is fucked! At this point the only boxer who beats Tyson Fury is Tyson Fury. Unless, his mental health deteriorates to such lows as he had pre 2017 I don't foresee that being a problem. Thing with Tyson Fury is this, if he beats Joshua easy then I think he'll retire again, if it's competitive he probably does the rematch just for the bacon which I don't blame him for at all. But Fury will have zero motivation to continue his career past that.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

The fight we all wanted to see, top of everyone's wishlist, it just had to happen, can't wait! As for who I've got, I'm leaning towards Fury, but I need to think before I make my final prediction.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

Spence-Crawford at the top of my list, but this was easily second! I can see why Fury is the early favorite, but that will just motivate Joshua and he should not be under-estimated. We might be overrating Fury based on him figuring out how to dominate a one-trick pony in Wilder. He certainly didn't have him completely figured out in their first fight.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

or maybe we’re underrating Wilder doing that...who might be an underrated fighter at long range and Fury relying on his timing and head movement more predominantly in the first fight found it hard at that range and Wilders implicit timing with his more shorter punches getting from point a to point b fueled by great athleticism may require real good reflexes and it may be harder getting that split second earlier to get around that curve ball

I wasn’t expecting Spence Crawford this year given that Crawford still pricing himself out with 50 50 talks and 60 40 in his favour

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

I don't understand why Crawford pricing himself out is an accepted narrative. Spence might be drawing more attention in America but the Crawford fight will get global attention at the "casual" level. Neither of them can earn that money, get that attention or secure that legacy until they fight each other. Not to fight on the pretext of money looks like coawardice. I don't believe that from Spence but it's the only explanation re: PBC and Haymon.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

I agree with you 100%. It never makes sense to me when a fighter denies a mega-fight because they don't like the split (within reason of course). Sends the message that maybe they don't think they can win. Because if they did win, then they control the market and majority revenue for future fights. But you can't elevate yourself to that position unless you first have the mega-fight. Of course, the real reason for Bud's hesitation could be he thinks there is a possibility of a Pacman fight, which would of course would be the holy grail payday for a fighter win or lose.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

Individual Pac fight would earn more but not as a package, for reasons you've already stated. Beat Pac, nobody blinks that you beat an old man and nobody will want to see it again. Win the legacy fight, there may be 2 or 3, the winner controls the division and you secure that legacy.

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

Agreed

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

with Fury idk it’s always better to cautious and wait
the way both sides were talking about this fight last June you’d think the first fight woulda taken place by now

also the site hasn’t been fixed yet so I’ll wait

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

Something about this one just sounds fishy. I just read they signed both the match and rematch at once. That's just fucking insane! First time I've heard of such atrocity being committed in boxing. Seriously, Okay what if Fury shuts out Joshua 120-108 on ALL 3 scorecards. How could you possibly justify a stupid rematch then???? Good thing motherfucking Fury-Wilder 3 didn't take place because there's no way you could justify that fucking bullshit rubber match. I don't know I am just not as stoked as I was before. I wouldn't be shocked if this goes the draw route or a bullshit robbery decision takes place in May and then the rematch is a more fair fight. Fucking shit

Re: Fury Vs. Joshua Confirmed!

Too much time is hurting this fight; we're all growing stale. I'm a Joshua fan but I don't see Fury having trouble with him. In the ring Fury is smarter, more clever and is a little bit crazy, which you need in this game. Joshua is too cerebral and rational. What will he work on in all these months of training? What game plan can he possibly devise? That's the key to me. As things stand now, Fury in a wide decision seems most probable in a fight with just a few engaging moments.
