This was a huge step up for Torsten May and he fought completely the wrong fight, he had the advantage at range, but either was not strong enough to prevent it or just let Washington walk right in the front door and fight close, often May just falling in to close quarters where he was at a serious strength and punching disadvantage. The rare moments when May stayed at range and moved and used the jab showed the blueprint to win a world title, but he did not.
