Comments

I am really looking forward to this rematch

MINIMaxBOXING's picture

I think Estrada is gonna stop Cuadras this time.

Champion97's picture

I agree bro, I think in the mid rounds, it wouldn't surprise me if it was late or even a UD for Estrada, but I doubt Cuadras will make this another close fight.

Champion97's picture

Prediction.

The first fight was close, Cuadras won the first half, Estrada the second, the knock down was the difference. I think the 3 years since the first fight, favour Estrada heavily, he's been slightly more active, both fighters lost their next fight after the first fight, but Estrada lost to Rungvasai, and beat Rungvasai in the rematch, which is his best career win, Cuadras lost to Arroyo, who is good, but was old, inactive, and Arroyo was moving up from 112, Cuadras has got 3 straight wins, but Estrada has been more dominant, Cuadras's last fight was very close, against a relatively poor opponent, and I don't think Cuadras has been the same since the first fight.

I think Cuadras will be the aggressor in the early rounds, out work Estrada again, but whenever Estrada lands the single counter right hand, I don't think Cuadras will take it as well as the first time, it will knock him back, it will take more out of time than the first time, he won't be able to time his head movement as well as in the first fight, will fall short and walk into another shot as he tries to answer Estrada after taking a single shot. I think Cuadras will have taken a lot of damage by round 5, and Estrada's volume will get higher in rounds 5-7, and his will drop, he'll fight Estrada in the pocket, land a fair amount of shots himself, but Estrada will do all the damage, and he will stop Cuadras in 8.

What a fight. Amazing. A fight of the year contender for sure.

It would be my top contender for fight of the year is Zepeda vs Baranchyck didnt happen.

Champion97's picture

Cuadras did better than I expected, but he has to retire now, he took a massive amount of damage in this fight, I thought the stoppage came too late, I'd have stopped it when Cuadras got up the second time. Solid performance from Estrada, Gonzalez vs Estrada II is the logical fight to make next.

Cuadras was a moving target in the early rounds, threw the double jab, threw combinations, but Estrada was more varied, was more accurate, landed the harder shots. It was a great shot that dropped Estrada, Estrada leaned forward, was about to attack on the inside, had his feet squared, but it was a well timed, accurate shot, Estrada was hurt, but it was late in the round, Cuadras wasn't really able to build on it, Estrada came back well in the following rounds, pushed Cuadras onto the back foot, landed good shots at mid range, Cuadras slowed down after 5 rounds, took punishment in rounds 5 and 6, had the heart and conditioning to get through the rounds, had a better round 7, out worked Estrada, Estrada took his foot off the gas, but he struggled to position himself to land as Cuadras pivoted. Cuadras's output dipped after 7 rounds, Estrada was able to walk him down at times, and even when Cuadras was still moving, Estrada was getting the timing and distance right, doing all the damage.
