Fragmented film could not stop this one from being a all time classic battle between two great pugilists. The contest was as close as one could be, with the younger Basilio doing just a little more to dethrone the aging Middleweight Champion. Robinson still gives it his all, and a case could possibly be made that he successfully defended his championship. It is a true shame the whole film cannot be found, because this fight of the year for 1957 should be available for all to see.
