Good performance by Ioka. It took him until the fourth to get the range but after that, he won the fight easily. Ioka was too skilled for Cintron at medium and close range and had Cintron either missing or not throwing. Cintron had success when he could get planted on the outside but after the third Ioka did a good job of limiting that. I'd like to see Cintron get more opportunities, he didn't do too badly and didn't have a lot of pro experience going into this fight. I'd also like to see Ioka vs. Chocolatito or Ioka vs. Tanaka soon, both would be great fights.

I agree, this was the experience Cintron needed, he can come back better. I think Tanaka took away Cintron's movement with the body shots, and Cintron couldn't get the distance or stop Ioka working on the inside, Ioka landed the counter right at medium range, and Cintron couldn't land the left like he was when he was picking Ioka off at range. I agree Ioka against Tanaka would be a great fight, but has there been talks of Tanaka moving up to 115?, because he hasn't been at 112 that long. The Chocolatito fight would make sense for Ioka because he'd be fighting a legend, and it's a great opportunity for Gonzlaez, it would be a big fight, but I don't think that would be a good fight.

If Cuadras is still able to compete at 115 I would be interested in seeing Cintron vs. Cuadras by the end of the year, both are with Top Rank as far as I know. I had first heard that Tanaka may move up to challenge Ioka before he fought Jonathan Gonzalez but he looked underwhelming in that fight so that may have pushed the plan back. I recently heard it again and it would be a big fight in Japan. There have been reports that Ioka is going to aggressively push for unifications this year but Tanaka is able to become Ioka's mandatory if he finds the purse split to be ok, so the ball is in Tanaka's court. I think Chocolatito deserves the opportunity, he really did a lot to build up the visibility of the lower weight classes. When Chocolatito and Ioka were at 112 Ioka didn't want anything to do with Chocolatito so if Ioka wants to target that fight he must believe Chocolatito is aged out which is very possible. It sounds like it will be Yafai vs. Chocolatito next though unless Maloney is able to successfully challenge the WBA in court to enforce his mandatory.
