More:

Alexis Arguello attempts to become the first fighter to win titles in four weight divisions when he moves up to 140 pounds to take on undefeated WBA Super Lightweight Champion Aaron Pryor. To the shock of many, Pryor's fast hands prove too busy for Arguello and his chin too strong as he takes bombs from the challenger without relenting. After the thirteenth round, Pryor's trainer Panama Lewis has his fighter drink from a designated bottle, which has sparked controversy as to its contents. In any event, Pryor punishes Arguello in the fourteenth round until Referee Stanley Christodoulou stops one of the greatest fights of all time.

Now back to the good stuff!

Nick_Foxx's picture

What do you think was in the special bottle that Panama Lewis gave to Pryor to drink prior to the last round?

rorschach's picture

Well given that I know Pryor had his battles with cocaine addiction, and add the to the fact that Panama Lewis is a fucking scumbag, I'd say it was either cocaine or broken apart antihistamine pills mixed with water. Luis Resto Pryor's chief second admitted awhile back Lewis used to break apart antihistamine pills and mix it with water to give his fighters greater lung capacity during the later rounds. Either way could be a possibility considering the Florida State Athletic Commission "forgot" to administer a post fight piss test.

TheUndefeated's picture

Rightly or wrongly, Pryor's legacy was certainly tainted by the nefarious Lewis. I think many fans view this fight in a similar way to Antonio Margarito's stoppage win over Miguel Cotto. It stands on the record books as a win, but information gleamed later certainly casts doubt.
