Prediction,

Great match up, a unification fight is always great to see.

Fair play to Porter, most of us thought he didn't want to take this fight, he didn't have to, but he proved people wrong, and I think he will be 100% there to win, didn't just take this fight for the money.

I think Spence is a great fighter, one of the best of his generation, I think he is definitely either the best welterweight, or second behind Crawford, that is the best potential fight in boxing in my opinion. Spence is in his prime now, at 29, he got the experience he really needed against Brook, and he went 12 against Garcia, has been improving with every fight, I think is an overrated puncher, but an underrated techincal fighter, he schooled Mikey Garcia, he was the favourite in that fight, but most people didn't expect him to have the better boxing brain in that fight. Spence is deceptively skilful in my opinion, he is very aggressive, has a high output, is one of the best body punchers if not the best body puncher in boxing, but his judgement of distance, timing accuracy, basic boxing skills, brilliant.

Porter is good, he put himself on the map in 2013, when he beat Devon Alexander for the title Spence has now, he destoyed Paulie Malignaggi early in his first defence, but he lost to Kell Brook in his second defence, Brook boxed very well, knew how to deal with Porter's rugged style. Porter came back by beating Broner, and he had a Fight of the Year candidate against Thurman in 2016, he lost that fight, but it was close, and he raised his stock even in defeat. Porter was able to rebuild after losing to Thurman, and last year, he sealed his legacy, beat Danny Garcia, became a 2-time world champion, got the best win of his career. Porter didn't impress in his last fight, he was expected to get the win, but he missed the weight on the first attempt, and the decision was controversial, there was a slip that a lot of people thought was a legitimate knock down. Ugas is a good fighter, and the kind of fighter who is easy for people to underestimate, that was a factor, but I think Porter did underestimate Ugas, and I think at 31, he is starting to decline. I think Porter will be better in this fight than he was against Ugas, it is the biggest fight of his career, he will be the best he can possibly be, but I don't think he can repeat his performance from the Garcia fight, can come very close, but I don't think he can match that.

I think Spence is a level above Porter, I think he hits harder, has a lot more technical skill, but the biggest issue for Porter, is that he is used to being the bully, with the strength and output, but I think Spence is stronger than Porter, he is a big welterweight, and he has a very high output himself, and Porter's output might dip slightly in the late rounds if he works as hard, pushes the pace like he normally does, in the early and mid rounds. If Spence can match or beat Porter for output, push him back, I don't know what Porter's tactics will be, I don't know how he can win the fight if he is out worked and pushed back.

One attribute Porter has that is unusual for an aggressive fighter is great foot speed, he isn't a defensive puncher, can't really box on the back foot, but he can be purely defensive on the back foot, change direction at the right time, covers the canvas very quickly. I think Porter can frustrate Spence and cause him problems with his foot speed, Spence will have to be patient in the early rounds, use his jab, judge the distance, and wait for Porter to get off with his own offence, but if he tries to be first, he will struggle to land, because Porter is very illusive, very fast on his feet.

I don't think Porter is better than Mikey Garcia, but I don't think there is a lot in it, and I think the weight disadvantage Garcia was at, that Porter isn't at, more than compensates
