Prediction,

Great match up, both unbeaten fighters in their prime.

Warrington is good, I thought he would lose to Dennis Ceylan, didn't rate him that high at European level, but he domianted, stopped Ceylan, and more importantly, beat Selby and Frampton, proved himself at world level.

Galahad doesn't have Warrington's resume, doesn't have any wins like Warrington's last 2 wins, is the less proven fighter, but I think he is a good, world level fighter as well, boxed very well in his last fight, against Kahn Clary.

Warrington will push the pace, be aggressive, throw a lot of shots, walk through shots to get closer to the target, and as the rounds go on, be relentless, and Galahad will counter him coming in, try to out box him, but it will be a case of whether Galahad can stop Warrington fighting his fight, use skill and movement to control the distance get himself out of range, know when to throw his shots, Selby and Frampton couldn't do that, and if Galahad can't, and he has to fight Warrington's fight, he'll lose, because he doesn't have as a good a chin as Warrington, is not as strong, and doesn't have the same output.

I'm impressed by Galahad, I think he is a good fighter, but he has a lot to prove, he is the less tested fighter in this fight. I hope Galahad loses, he is unpopular, has very few fans, and there can be no complaints about that.

I think this might be a draw, it is a 50/50 fight, it is a tough one to call, it depends how good Galahad is, he might be slightly better than Warrington, slightly too skilled, but Warrington might have too much output, too much world level experience, I don't see any particular reason to think either is better, Warrington will probably be the favourite, with the 2 big wins, but I think a draw.

To watch this live on British TV, we have one payment option, pay £360 for a year subscription, no option just to buy that one fight, pay £20 or 30 at a push, not even the option to pay £50 or 60 for the month, which was bad enough, but on a channel with about 2 decent boxing bills a month, £360, absolute robbery. BT sport is a disgrace, Boxnation, Sky, great channels, but BT is a joke.

WAS IT REALLY A ROBBERY

Champion97's picture

Good fight, wasn't the best, a lot of holding, I don't think Phil Edwards did a great job of keeping that under control, and it would be have been a much better fight if Galahad had stopped holding, but Edwards didn't give him a final warning about losing a point, and if that tactic was frustrating Warrington, whether it annoys the fans or not, if he could get away with it, he was going to keep using that ugly but effective tactic.

Galahad boxed very well, his defence was brilliant, and he landed most of the stand out shots, but making the other guy miss isn't enough, you have to make him pay, and I don't think Galahad did that enough to win the fight, he tied Warrington up when he got close, to stop Warrington working on the inside, which makes sense, but he wasn't working well in the clinches, so he was negating his own work as well as Warrington's, he rarely threw a combination, Galahad, it was always the single shot, and he wasn't consistent.

I don't think Warrington did enough to win, it was a fair decision in my opinion, could have gone either way, very close fight, I don't think there was any hometown judging, but the judges usually give the benefit of the doubt to the aggressor when they struggle to decide on the round, even rounds are more common in the UK than the US, but you don't see a lot of them. Warrington was frustrated, struggled with the holding, but Galahad judged the distance, saw his shots coming, and Warrington couldn't hit him, Warrington did the right thing by being a moving target himself, which is why Galahad wouldn't throw shots on the outside as often as he needed to.

I thought the commentary from Richie Woodhall and Ronald Macintosh was poor they were acknowledging Warrington's frustration, Galahad's boxing brain, defence, but what they weren't acknowledging was how inactive Galahad was, and the vast difference in punches thrown, they made it sound like Galahad was out boxing Warrington for more of the fight than he was, and as if he was landing a lot more clean punches, when really when one guy is missing most of what he throws, but the otuer guy is throwing very little, that is not the case, and there was nothing in it for punches landed in this fight.
