Prediction,

This is a good match up, should be a great fight.

Ioka lost to Nietes, and Palicte drew with Nietes, but Ioka against Nietes was an SD, and the Nietes vs Palicte draw was controversial, most of us thought Nietes clearly won.

Palicte is big for the weight, he can punch, he is a young fighter, will probably have learned from and improved from the Nietes fight, but I think Ioka is better, is more skilful, he hasn't had more fights than Palicte, but he's been in a lot more world title fights.

I think this will be a very entertaining fight, competitive fight, but Ioka will get a clear win, at least 115-113, more likely 116-112.

Very good fight.

Brilliant performance from Ioka, he deserves to be a world champion, he fought the fight of his life, that stoppage was great from the referee, Palicte won't have been happy about it, will have thought he could have continued, but he took a bad beating there, he was badly hurt, he hadn't been down, he was still able to move, but Ioka was able to stay in the right range to land, was able to inflict a sustained beating, wasn't missing anything, so good stoppage from the referee. Palicte hurt Ioka in round 7, he landed the harder shots in the early rounds, the first round was very close, I think he just edged it with that great counter right, towards the end, he is very physically strong at 115, and he has devastating power, but he isn't technically the best fighter, and he isn't the most durable. I think Ioka would beat Nietes in a rematch, the first fight was very close, I don't know if that fight will happen, but Ioka is definitely a good champion, hopefully he will be in at least one more big fight, the Estrada unification would be great to see.
