What did you think of the fight?

Champion97's picture

Mismatch, as a Crolla fan, it was sad to see, I didn't expect Lomachenko to get rid of Crolla in 6, never mind 4. Lomachenko was brilliant, still at his best, is a great fighter.

How about Claressa Shields? Is she a great fighter or what?

Very big mismatch. He is an expceptional fighter. Who do you think is next for Lomachenko?

Great fight, she made Hammer look very limited in the ring. At the end of her career, she will be top 3 woman fighter ever if not the best.

I was thinking about this, how do you like the idea of Drevychenko vs Charlo?

Champion97's picture

Tough to say, maybe Lopez or Commey, not a lot of options, but there a few good potential fights for him.

She out boxed her, in the first half, her defence was the biggest difference, and in the second half, she walked her down.

Good match up, both PBC, not hard to make, I think Canelo will be ordered to fight Charlo because he is the Interim champion, but if Canelo vacates, or maybe if the WBC don't order the fight next, good match, 50/50 fight. Who do you think would win?

I think Lopez, assuming he gets passed Tatli, will face Campbell then winner will fight Lomachenko on pay per view. I like the winner of Barthelemy vs Easter for Lomachenko next. I think Easter beats Barthelelmy.

Oh yeah, great performance by Shields.

If the Canelo fight falls through this will be a good matchup. I think Charlo would win a decision.

Also I heard GGG is fighting Scott Rolls next, not a good fight but what do you make of it?

Champion97's picture

Good match up, but I think Commey vs Lopez is more likely because of the network. That's a good match up, but Easter is PBC, it would be harder to make than Lopez or Commey, but that fight won't happen next if Commey and Lopez fight each other, but I think Lomachenko vs Campbell is easier to make, Arum just said Lomachenko might go to the UK, and if they can do Lomachenko vs Crolla, they can do Lomachenko vs Campbell.

She is the best female boxer of all time in my opinion, two-time Olympic gold medallist, 3 time world champion, undisputed champion, and she is only 24, incredible.

He would have to do better than against Korobov. I think Charlo as well.

It's just a tune up, with it being his first fight on DAZN, they probably wanted a showcase more than anything else, which is fair enough. You?

It would be hard to make the Barhtelemy vs Easter winner but he does have options at espn. Like Luke Campbell, Commey and Lopez. How will this whole Commey, Loma, Lopez and Campbell situation work out? Because Bob Arum said he'd get Lopez vs Campbell if Lopez wins his next fight. There was also talks of Lopez vs Commey then winner of that fights Loma for undisputed. Also Loma vs Campbell is an option as well. I think Luke Campbell is better then what most people say.

I still think Anne Wolfe is, but it's hard to argue. I have to look more into more womens boxing.

I agree on that, but I thought there would be better options. I thought Brandon Adams would've been a better option. It's more of a showcase fight and tune up for this one.

How about Miller failing a drug test? How disappointing.

Champion97's picture

Commey vs Lopez next is more likely I think. Arum should have been clearer about what the plan was.

Very disappointing, I don't know if the fight will still happen, I would say not. Maybe Joshua vs Whyte II will happen now, or Joshua vs Hunter. We were looking forward to the fight, but Miller hadn't earned the shot, now he has failed a drug test, he does not deserve the shot.

He is a bit confusing on his plan but I'm sure it will all work out.

It's disappointing to see another good fight ruined by failing a drug test. I'm still waiting to see what they'll do, because they still might let the fight go or not. Also I like Joshua vs Whyte or Hunter, even Ortiz. What do you think? Maybe Pulev could be an option.

Champion97's picture

Yeah.

If Whyte was American, he'd be the front runner. They are all options, but I think Hunter might be the easiest fight to make, but I don't think he can sell a fight like Miller. I hope we see Joshua vs Whyte II, because Whyte deserves the opportunity. I wouldn't mind seeing Joshua against any of those 4, but I hope it is not Charr, because he is not world level.

That would be the easy sell if Whyte was American, I still think he is because of how much Whyte improved since their last fight. Hunter is a good option as well, he won't sell the fight as well as Miller but he's still a good fight replacement option.

What do you think of Ortiz as a replacement?

Champion97's picture

He has the Parker win, no other non-champion has a win like that. Definitely, very underrated fighter, Hunter, his only loss was to Usyk, he won a few rounds, a good 3, maybe 4 or even 5, against one the best fighters in the world, that's his only loss, he is not a heavyweight, but his last two performances, against big guys, have been brilliant.

Not the best, certainly not the worst, he is one of the stronger potential opponents, but why throw a drug cheat out and bring in a new one? I think Whyte or Hunter, but there are 101 options for who AJ could fight, hopefully it is a top 10 opponent, and not a Charr, Chisora.

What do you think of Ortiz as a replacement?

Hunter isn't a bad option at all. He gave Usyk a tough fight early. I personally thought he should've been stopped because of the punishment he took in the last two rounds. He looks good at heavyweight as of now.

I agree with that, why bring in a cheat to replace another? He is a good option, but he's too much of a liability to bring in as a replacement. I think Ortiz would be a better option as a first opponent rather then a replacement. I like Whyte, Hunter, or possibly Pulev if he's ready.

We have talked about this for a while now, and now that it's a reality how do you think Usyk fairs at heavyweight? I think he cemented himself as the best cruiserweight of all time, by what he's accomplished, I wonder how his skills, power and chin hold up at Heavyweight. I'd love to see Usyk vs Fury down the road.

Champion97's picture

Very well, he's small for a heavyweight, but not smaller than Holyfield, he is 6'3, big cruiserweight, big enough that fighting at heavyweight isn't a bad idea. Usyk will be at a size disadvantage at heavyweight, but I think he can work around it. I 100% agree, Usyk is the best cruiserweight of all time.

He still has the same boxing brain, still has the knowledge, experience, putting skills into prcatice is something else, but I think he will still be technically great at heavyweight, we'll see though. He has a good chin, Usyk, but I don't think he has a granite chin, not sure how well he can take punches from big heavyweights, but he just needs that extra bit of respect for his opponents power, keep the head moving. He will struggle for power at heavyweight, Usyk, I guarantee, he can still get KOs, because the perfect body shot can still land, doesn't need to be the hardest shot, just accurate, well timed, and if he has the stamina, output, he can use volume to make up for not having a lot of power at heavyweight. What do you think?

So would I, that's a great match up, similar fighters stylistically, both got great boxing brains, great movement, counter punchers, got variety, not the biggest punchers in the world, not non punchers, great defensive fighters, especially Fury. Fury has a big size advantage over Usyk, but Usyk has been more consistent, is more of a professional.

He's skillfull enough to work around his size disadvantage. He fought everyone in their backyard and came out the winner, that deserves a lot of respect.

I like Usyk daring to be great by stepping up.One advantage he has in moving up is that he is lighter on his feet so he can still moves as he likes, and is a lot faster. His chin seems like it can hold up, but we still have to see it put to the test. He still is at a disadvantage with being smaller because his power might not be enough to keep the big guys off him. He'll still get some impressive wins. I think he can beat most fighters except Joshua, Fury and Wilder are toss ups to me. I'd know better once I see him at heavyweight.

That's a good point about Usyk being more consistent, that's why I'm not complaining about Furys opponent because it's better then him being out of the ring and inconsistent.

100%, Canelo, Crawford, Spence, Usyk, Lomachencko, all great fighters, deserve respect as great fighters.

As long as he doesn't put on too much mass, he can move well, be agile, which is important. I think he beats Joshua, Wilder, but we will see. Definitely, we don't know how well he'll do at heavyweight, we won't know until he fights.

Much better, he's not fighting a bum, probably a top 20 heavyweight, Schwarz, I think Fury will get a shutout, should be an easy win, but much better than doing nothing, that's what Fury's plan is, take time away from big fights, don't take any unnecessary risks, don't take damage, but live the life, keep active. If Fury does everything right, I think he will be the best heavyweight that has ever lived, but after the Klitschko win, was not the first time Fury got very heavy and fell out of love with boxing.

Trout vs Gausha, who you got?

Definitely.

I think he can beat them if he has a good chin. He's more then capable of beating them, but if he can take a good punch from them I think he can win.

I know the fight isn't of quality, but I'm just happy that Fury is fighting and staying active. I thought that being robbed against Wilder he would harp on that and be a little inconsistent. That's true Fury said he felt empty after the Klitschko win. He said that he accomplished what he wanted.

I got Trout what about you?

Pacquiao vs Thurman looks on, what do you think of that?
