Prediction,

Hammer had to withdraw from fighting Shields, and my assumption is that her not having the WBC title has something to do with her inevitable illness related inactivity, but obviously for this fight, it's another belt, and it adds to the fight, an even greater opportunity for Hannah Rankin, and for Claressa Shields, it's a chance to add another belt to her tally, have not half but the majority of the belts in the division.

Shields is 23, she is very young, learning, improving with every fight, I think at the very least, she's good, and she has the potential to be the best female boxer who has ever lived, two-time Olympic gold medallist is a great accomplishment, and to learn and develop as a professional, so fast, you have to be impressed.

I don't think Hannah Rankin is good enough, I think it is levels, her record of 5-2 doesn't suggest she will win this, and I think she is very unlikely to win, no reason to think she won't try her best, do herself proud, but I think she is fighting a special fighter. For 5 fights, Rankin fought at a low level, she lost to Joanna Ekedahl (1-0), by split decision, she has 1 stoppage win, that was in 1 round, against Klaudia Vigh (2-21), but in her last two fights, she has stepped up, she won the silver title, very comfortably beating Sanna Turunen (4-0), and in her last fight, she fought Alicia Napoleon (9-1) for her WBC world title, she lost very one sided, but went the distance, and will have learned from that fight, she does lack experience at this level, Rankin, having been a professional for only 18 months, only had 7 fights, just 45 rounds, Shields, granted, has a lot to learn herself, she's had a fight less, done a few rounds less, but she has been a professional for 2 years, has fought the better opposition overall, Napoleon, Rankin's only opponent who comapres to Adler, Nelson, Gabriels.

I think Shields will stop Rankin, I think she is improving with every fight she has, as she learns, she doesn't repeat mistakes, and as she matures, she'll hit harder. I think this will be a one sided fight, I think Shields will outbox Rankin for 3 or 4 rounds, have the superior skills, land some big shots that Rankin takes well, but as Rankin starts to fade, and Sheilds gets more confident, she will be more aggressive in rounds 5 and 6, and Rankin will take punishment. I think with a sustained onsluaght, landing a barrage of clean punches, Shields will stop a defenceless Rankin, having won every round, but Rankin will raise her stock as well by trying her best.

Not the best performance from Claressa, decent, but she could have done better I think.
