Prediction,

Should be a great fight, both very entertaining fighters.

Macias doesn't seem to have a great deal of power or skill, but is very strong, very tough, has a very high output, is relelntless, he's unbeaten, he hasn't fought any experienced fighters, fought a couple of unbeaten opponents with under 10 fights, but hasn't fought anyone I'm familiar with. For Macias, at 17-0, 27 years old, this is a good time for him to step up in class. Soto Karass is much more experienced, been at a much higher level than any of Macias's previous opponents.

Soto Karass wasn't bad in his prime, never a good technical fighter, but he was a tough fighter, was in great fights against Maidana, Berto. Soto Karass is 36, and a very old 36, taken some beatings, he hasn't won a fight since 2013, been stopped 5 times in his career, been stopped twice in his last 3 fights. I think Karass is shot, hopefully he will retire after this fight.

I think this will be a very entertaining fight for a few rounds, but Karass will be slow, struggle to hold up against shots, from the start, and in rounds 5 and 6, he will take a beating, and Macias not having top level power will make it tough for him to put Karass down, but not hard to inflict a sustained beating, and in round 7, he will get the stoppage.

If Macias stops Karass, and it isn't a tough fight for more than 4 rounds if that, then he should definitely step up in his next fight, face a test, because at this level, he is not challenged.
