Prediction,

Sho Kimura has overachieved, I didn't think he had a 5% chance of beating Zhiming, that was a brilliant upset, he has defended his title twice. A couple of years ago, to look at his record, you wouldn't think he is world level at all, but he is a world champion now, has done very well to not only win a world title but defend it.

Kosei Tanaka seems like a very good prospect, he was a good amateur, only had 3 fights before having his first title fight, and when he was only 4-0, fought for a world title at 105, won the fight, he defended against Saludar next (who is now a world champion at 105 having just beat Ryuya Yamanaka), was poor, was losing, got dropped, but managed to stop Saludar in round 6, I wonder if maybe Tanaka was struggling with the weight against Saludar, because after that fight, he moved up. After a non-title fight at flyweight, but then fought for the WBO title at 108, stopped Fuentes, defended with an impressive win over current world champion, Angel Acosta, defended again, and then moved back up to flyweight, fought in a non-title fight. There isn't as much hype around Tanaka in Japan as there is around Inoue, but Tanaka could be another great fighter in the future, he still has a bit to prove, but a two weight world champion at 23, is some going, he still has a bit to learn, but he is not inexperienced.

I think Tanaka will be strong at 112, he was 20 when he made 105 for the last time, and probably needed to move up, and maybe even at 108 as well, he has been at flyweight twice, went into round 9 at 112 in his last fight, he is tall enough, but still, he doesn't have that much experience at 112, he isn't used to fighting flyweights, but his last fight was good adaptation. Kimura might have a weight advantage, but only a very slight one, they are probably basically the same size.

I think Kimura might be Tanaka's best opponent so far, but Angel Acosta might be better. Kimura is not to be written off, he can punch, mentally, he should be in the right place, and I don't think this will be a walk in the park for Tanaka, but at the same time, I think Tanaka is very good, he needs a win like this, and maybe a few more, to build his name, but I think he is a very good fighter, improving, he hits hard, he is a talented fighter, and I think he will beat Kimura, and by stoppage as well.

I think this will be a competitive, entertaining fight, Kimura will try his best, have some success, but I think Tanaka will be getting the better of it after 6 rounds, they will trade, maybe hurt each other, but Kimura will take more punishment, and Tanaka will take over down the stretch, stop Kimura, maybe in 10, get a great win, make a statement, and become a 3 weight world champion.
