Prediction,

I thought Linares was goimg to reitre after the Lomachencko defeat, he would have retired on a high, after his effort in that fight, dropping Lomachencko, making it a good fight, but he isn't retiring yet. At 33, after the Lomachencko fight, I'm not sure what Lomachencko has left, and moving up to 140 may or may not be the best option for him, as a former world champion at 126, you might think not, on the other hand, he was only 22 at that point, he is 5'8, and he has been at lightweight for 11 years, so this isn't a big weight jump, he will probably be strong at 140, especially if making 135 is a real difficulty.

Abner Cotto is not his cousin, he's not world level, stopped in 1 round against Omar Figueroa, stopped in 5 in a bizzare fight against Javier Fortuna (to his credit, he did drop Fortuna), lost fairly wide to Francisco Vargas, but he has won the other 23 of his 26 fights, he has boxing in his blood, he is 31, 5'10, been at 140 for 2 years, so he is strong at this weight, does have size on his side in this fight. I think Cotto's desire and dedication is very questionable, how hard is he training for this fight?, has he trained hard enough and taken boxing seriously enough over the years to win this fight? Cotto is younger, fresher than Linares, is bigger, but is he good enough?

I think assuming Linares is easily good enough, and will be mentally in a good enough place, train hard, isn't shot, and will win this fight with little to no trouble, but hopefully Cotto will bring it, make it a decent fight.

I think Linares beats Cotto, UD, at least 97-93, probably wider.

Not competitive, but a beautiful finish from Linares. Excited to see what he can do at 140.
