Muhammad Ali fulfills an earlier promise by giving former sparring partner Alvin Blue Lewis the opportunity to fight him in Dublin. The tall Lewis comes to fight and applies the pressure but gets floored by a right hand in the fifth round. Despite being down for some 13 seconds, Lewis is allowed to continue when he beats the slow count of Referee Lew Eskin. Ali continues to hammer Lewis with big shots and keeps him on rubbery legs round after round before Eskin stops it in the eleventh.
