Really good scrap. I think networks like ESPN should consider picking up more of these Japanese only cards if the price is low enough because they usually have good action. There were some tough to score rounds in here and Budler seemed to win more conclusive rounds but I really struggle to see how Budler got this decision in Japan.

I think they will. They added the fights Friday morning to the ESPN+ lineup. I think these fights bring a lot of excitement, and the Japanese crowds can be amazing. I remember how great the old Pride days were with those crowds.

That is great, I don't mind watching with Japanese commentary but it does get old and isn't very friendly for more casual viewers. I think they will get a lot more casual viewers for them over time if they promote them correctly on ESPN+. If Golovkin vs. Murata eventually happens at the Tokyo Dome putting a few Japanese champions on the undercard would be great for exposure as well. Perhaps Golovkin vs. Murata would be able to get the mainstream exposure for boxing in Japan that Pride had with MMA.

I think that would be a great alternative fight if the Clenelo rematch falls through, and since Murata is a Regular champ, I believe/hope that would make the IBF back off on the mandatory claim. I agree, get some of the young Japanese champs, and even Malaysian(who are trying to launch a real boxing program) and Thai up and comers on the undercard, promoting fighters from the region. I loved those Pride days, and very little in the modern UFC has lived up to those Pride days.
