Prediction,

I think Degale will win this one comfortably, he'll struggle times, he's been out of the ring for 11 months, Truax isn't a bum. I think Truax will have his moments, especially in the mid-late rounds, but Degale will have built a lead, maybe dropped Truax once early, maybe even as soon as round 1, nd Degale will have the better of most exchanges in the championship rounds. I think Degale will win 8-11 rounds on the scorecards, winning by wide margins, impressing, with a good performance, a good way to stay active, but I don't think he'll do a more convincing job on Truax than Dirrell and Jacobs, it doesn't mean much though.

I think Degale, now, as wirld champion, has achieved what he set out to achieve, I think he shouod have another 3 or 4 fights before he retires. Degale is in a competitive division, he'll believe he's the best, he'll want to prove it, it is a shame he isn't in the Super Series competition, but it isn't the end of the world for Degale, fights against Smith and/or Groves could still happen, I think he should try to avoid Ramirez, I'd be shocked of he won that fight, it is very unlikely to happen, I think he'd be wise to try to get Zeuge next year, try to get another belt, and after thr tournament, he'll want the winner of the tournament, I think that will be Smith, Smith may have other plans if he does win it, so maybe the Groves fight could happen even if Groves doesn't win, though if Groves doesn't get to the final, Degale vs Eubank, I would think a more likely fight, that's a tough fight, but I think Degale can win that one.

DeGale should definitely retire now that he lost his title to a non-top tier opponent, Badou Jack broke him

What an upset!
Caleb Truax, without doubt, deserves to be a world champion, he was the underdog, he was in the other guys's backyard, he was fighting an arrogant champion, he didn't let any of that get to him, and he did his job to the best of his ability, good on him.

I'm disappointed for James Degale, I'm sure he thinks he won the fight, it was a very close one, I thought he just missed the mark of a win, but I don't think he deserved to lose, legitimate decision though. I think Degale has the right to protest for a rematch, maybe they could fight again, in the US, it was a tough, gritty, competitive fight throughout, I'm sure their fans wouldn't mind seeing it again. I think the operation, the layoff, these things were factors, but I also think Degale has always been overrated, he has so many flaws, makes so many mistakes, he's never been a consistent, tactically disciplined fighter, and Truax, I think he showed people why you shouldn't ever write off an underdog.

Degale dug down to the body with vicious shots, landed the cuter, cleaner work, punched off the ropes, blocked very well overall, but he was not able, for enough of the duration of enough rounds, to use his feet, move off the ropes, make it his kind of fight, and as well, he just wasn't composed a lot of the time, Truax would land a good shot, and then 3-4 more, clean heavy punches, Degale just looked disorganised. There can be no complaints about this decision.

I wonder if Truax might have, ultimately, in this fight, wanted to earn that belt, just slightly more than Degale wanted to retain it.
