Boxing as a sport

Boxing needs to be very careful with it's crooked judging and giving these decisions to the poster children when they clearly lose. Fans are going to get enough one day and you wont be able to get anyone to watch the fixed outcome of these contest. Clean up the judging or expect to fade into obscurity, boxing has had it's down time but if they don't get a little more honest in their decisions it will be laughed off the sports venues and relegated into the world of wwe or wwf wrestling, scripted, fixed and not worth watching unless your a moron.

Re: Boxing as a sport

First off, welcome to Eye on the ring, scoring and civil but honest discussion, that is what we are about!

It is terrible when the judges get it wrong, sometimes it is through incompetence, sometimes it is through corruption, but there are a lot of them. Some of the worst scores I have encountered, that infuriating 114-114 card from C.J. Ross after Mayweather boxed Canelo's ears off in what seemed to me to be no closer than 9-3, I actually had it 11-1, one of Mayweather's best performances for me, maybe The best. That judge who scored Hopkins vs Shumenov in favour of Shumenov, recently, Ryoto Murata, robbed blind against N'Dam, Lewis vs Holyfield, Rios vs Abril, the list goes on.

I have some ideas of how to stop this madness with the scoring system in boxing, I would love to dicuss this in further detail if you would like.

Re: Boxing as a sport

I would really like to hear your thoughts are improving the flaws of scoring system in boxing.

Re: Boxing as a sport

I've always thought judges should have to specify their scoring for each and every round of a fight.

The one of Mayweather's best performances for me, maybe The best. I liked!

Judges should have a TV monitor by now to score fights, wouldn't you think ?
