An absolutely phenomenal performance by Hilario Zapata. On his best days I really believe he is up there with the greatest 'defensive fighters' in history. In this match for the most part Torres looked as if he was swinging after a ghost. Reminiscent of Whitaker (though Zapata predates him) Zapata would twirl and coil his body like a serpent, while at various times Zapata would spin around Torres or spin Torres away from him like the great Willie Pep. The Panamanian looked as untouchable at the centre of the ring as he was at the ropes.
