That sucks. I really wanted to see him in the ring soon and stay active. It's just unfortunate he got hurt. Who do you think he should fight in the return? I say an easy fight to test the elbow out.

I didn't know the guy but that's awful.

Yeah I know, there are people giving him abuse about it, that is terrible, pathetic, mindless, nasty people, I hate injuries, I have a possible injury myself, I'm fairly confident and hopeful that it is very minor, and I can resume my training for the half marathon, I'm running 6-7 miles tomorrow, about 10k, so that will be something of a test.

For Thurman, we agreed didn't we?, Peterson in maybe October, November, and then Porter again next spring.

Not necessarily, I mean, I think a good amount of hard sparrs will do that, I think Porter next year, last time he fought Porter, he was coming off a neck injury from a car accident, and there was about a year between the Collazo fight and the Porter fight, so if he does foght Porter in say April 2018, then it will be a similar situation to the first fight, but if Porter fights again this year, against a decent opponent, wins, looks good, that will be two good wins in a row during Thurman's inactivity, Porter is too good for even Thurman to want to take too large a risk, Porter is likely to be in the top 5, won 5 rounds against him last time in the toughest fight of his career so far, so only if Thurman and Birmingham are confident enough about not needing a tune up, I think they will be. I definitely think Thurman vs Porter II should still be very much the aim.

I know, tragic.

I think it's awful when athletes are criticized for injuries. Nobody knows what pain they go through after their events. Injuries in sports are awful.

We agreed but I feel it can be different now that he was hurt. I do like Peterson next, then Porter after.

That's true he did have that neck injury that postponed the fight, then fought him 3 months later. So he should fight Peterson then go into Porter in 2018. I think Thurman will still be willing to give Porter the rematch.

Have some dream fights for you
Whitaker vs Duran
Whitaker vs Pacquiao
Lennox Lewis vs Wlad

I think the Porter rematch could be next.

I think it is highly likely that Thurman won't fight again until 2018.

I think at lightweight, Duran, welterweight, I think Whitiker.

I think the best Whitiker could out box Pacquiao, but I think I might egde the Philippino.

I think Lewis would have stopped Wlad late on, but he would have lost rounds, very difficult fight.

What do you think?

It's possible. For the rematch to be next and to fight in 2018

Dream fights
Duran vs Whitaker agree on lightweight and welterweight

Pacquiao vs Whitaker- Whitaker

Lewis over Vlad

Champion97's picture

I think that is best to be quite honest.

Some agree completely, well apart from my indecision on Whitiker vs Pacquiao,

Here are some for you,

Benn vs Jack

Eubank vs Degale

Light weight Duran vs the mighty Tank Davis in 2020, when Tank will probably have outgrown 130.
